Apartment on island of Kolocep, half an hour with a ship from Dubrovnik, for family with two kids, surrounded with nature. If necessary there is also another smaller fully equipped apartment for larger groups or grown up children next to it, not rented out seperately.
“This place is so special for 2 main reasons: 1 . Location and Space: The apartment is a great space with a big bed and good kitchen. There is plenty of outdoor seating and amazing views over the bay. The apartment is located in the heart of one of the two villages on the island. From here, 2 beaches are only 5 mins away and there are 3 restaurants and 2 cafes nearby (no more than 10 mins walk...) We also walked to the other village (2.5KM away - 25 mins walk...) where there is the best fish restaurant! 2. The other reason this Air BandB is amazing is the hosts: Autun and Paulina. They welcomed us like old friends and gave us plenty of local tips and advice about visiting the island/the old town in Dubrovnik. They checked in with us as the week went on and generously gave us ice cream, fresh figs, a local fritter and, the best bit, beer and limoncello! It was extremely generous and hospitable! This place is an absolute gem for all the reasons mentioned! Thank you Autun and Paulina for helping make our week in Koločep even better!”
This enchanting island with just over 100 inhabitants is one of the 13 islands and islets of the Elafiti It is celebrated for its luxuriant sub-tropical vegetation and sandy coves. There is a daily boat service to Dubrovnik which is just 7km away.
“We had the most perfect, magical stay in Kolocep. Zalta and Josip's apartment was wonderful, they were so welcoming and friendly, making us feel very at home. The apartment is a 2 minute walk from the beautiful crystal clear water, ferry and small shop, in the centre of one of the two beautiful little villages on the island. We shopped in the supermarket near the ferry port in Dubrovnik before our stay as the shop on the island is quite basic. The apartment was well equipped for cooking our own delicious meals each night! There are a couple of restaurants also on the island. We spent most of the time swimming with goggles and exploring Kolocep- it's such a peaceful and dreamy island! Thanks to wonderful hosts Zalta and Josip for making us feel so relaxed and comfortable!!”
The apartment is right on the beach, with steps leading you down to the sea where there is a little pebble beach is ideal for those who want to enjoy the beautiful nature and peaceful surrounding of the island.
“We had a wonderful time on the island Koločep with Ninas and Antonela's family. Get up in the morning, first sit down on a lounger on our own jetty with a freshly cooked coffee and wake up. Then into the crystal clear water with diving goggles (a must, as well as bathing shoes). You swim out a bit, say good morning to the fish, turn around and look at your beautiful quarters in a renovated historic building. Above the terrace, which share all three guest apartments. Each apartment has its own table and umbrella. Here you can talk to the "neighbors". Family hosted by family man Ante lives on the same property. They are always approachable and are with the help and tips to the side, reserve a table in the quaint fish restaurant of the neighboring settlement Gornje Čelo (definitely go!) Book a boat tour or transfer from / to the airport. Wonderful, welcoming people in a wonderful place! The island is not big, but even after 14 days we did not explore every corner. There are two settlements linked by a narrow concrete path. There are no cars here, just a few golf cars and mopeds. This contributes absolutely to the deceleration. There are also trails for which one should use appropriate footwear. Even in midsummer it was incredibly quiet. Of course, every now and then an excursion boat from Dubrovnik hangs and haunts a few people, but they are back on their boat after an hour or two and drive to the next stop of their island hopping. Near the apartment there is also a sandy beach, in front of the only larger hotel on the island. This TUI hotel (adults only, apparently all inclusive) does not bother, in that you have the feeling that people would not come out there :-) In addition, you can rent kayak, stand-up paddle or jet ski. The ferry from / to Dubrovnik runs four times a day in summer and it takes about 30 minutes for the crossing. We have used a private transfer by taxi and taxi boat for arrival and departure, organized by Nina and Antonela. This has already made the journey stress-free, especially since we were still able to stop at a supermarket to buy some basics. But do not worry, even in the only small shop on the island you get the most necessary, only the offer is not big there and the prices of the arduous delivery, of course, a bit higher. The apartment is equipped normally, the most important thing in the summer was the air conditioning. The kitchen has everything you need and if you miss something you go down and ask :-) Coffee you can cook in a French press. Near the apartment there are restaurants, from the gourmet "Villa Ruza" (do not forget thick wallet) over the middle class Culinarium to the cafe and pizzeria is all there, what you need. All in all, exactly the holiday we had hoped for. If you need a party, this is wrong, this is a place for those who want to go down completely. We hope we can come back soon and I can sit with Ante at his favorite place, his cherry ...”
