The Garden Retreat is a self contained dwelling, at the end of our garden. In a quiet residential area of Dorchester, in the summer there may be some noise from the surrounding gardens. Access from the road, leads directly to the Garden Retreat. We are in easy walking distance (about 10 minutes) from the centre of Dorchester. here you will find Cafes, restaurants and shops Dorchester is an historic town, with many place of interest. No Visitors. No smoking or vaping, on the premises. No pets.

The Old Reading Room West Stafford

The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. We have now lovingly restored, decorated and furnished this amazing building into a cosy self catering holiday retreat, "far from the madding crowd" Open plan, comfy double sofabed, wood burner, country walks and fabulous village pub.

We are a ten minute walk from the station, Poundbury and Brewery Square. Our newly renovated studio has an inviting interior, a rainfall shower and dedicated office space. A bespoke shepherd's hut, made by a local craftsman residing on rolling pasture of a forgotten turf maze and meeting place lost in time. Welcome to the first Troytown shepherd's hut, completed in June 2023. Located on Dorset's famous Jurassic Coastline it is the perfect base for exploring sandy beaches, historic monuments and plentiful walks in nearby Puddletown Forest. Enjoy an off grid experience with views of ancient woodland and sheep grazed pasture.
