Newly renovated village house

This house is located in the colorful and picturesque mountain village of Doukades. It is almost 150 years old, but due to a recent renovation it has all modern comfort, light and space. Nearby you will find the lively village square, several restaurants and idyllic hiking trails. A little further are the most beautiful beaches. The house is ideal for families, remote workers, couples or close friends who enjoy nature and want to explore Corfu in an authentic way, away from mass tourism.

Το σπίτι μας βρίσκεται σε ένα ηλιόλουστο αγρόκτημα, περιτριγυρισμένο από ελαιόδεντρα, στο γραφικό χωριό των Δουκάδων. Σε απάσταση 17χιλ από το κέντρο της Κέρκυρας και μόλις 4χιλ από την Παλαιοκαστρίτσα και 2χιλ από τις παραλίες των Λιαπάδων! Η σταση λεωφορείου απέχει μόλις 200μ ενώ στα 700μ μπορείτε να βρείτε φαρμακεία, σούπερ μάρκετ, βενζινάδικα, πλυντήριο ρούχων, καφετεριες, ταβέρνες και άλλα. Ο χώρος μας είναι φιλόξενος, ασφαλές και ιδανικός για όσους αγαπούν τη φύση!

The narrow pathway leads on. It divides, widens and continues on to an impressive A-frame at the edge of the estate. Everything is more spacious. The loft bedroom, the kitchen, the shower bathroom and the living room area. The wood burning stove is the “icing on the cake” for a winter stay. The outdoor setting in the remote woods will enchant you! Please note that this house is not suitable for children under 6 years old.

Bardzo urokliwe miejsce. Wszystkie sprzęty, wyposażenie są jak nowe. Właściciele są niezwykle hojni i gościnni. W niedużej odległości jest wiele świetnie ocenianych restauracji. Zalecam raczej pobyt tutaj z wynajętym autem, co znacznie ułatwi transport do Paleokastritsy czy Liapades. Nie ma żadnego problemu z parkingiem, dojazd również jest bezproblemowy wygodną i szeroką drogą, co na Korfu nie jest takie oczywiste. Nasz pobyt był bardzo udany i zdecydowanie polecam to miejsce jako świetna baza do zwiedzania i doświadczania uroków Korfu, zarówno zachodniego jak i wschodniego wybrzeża.

The house and the host Angela were both wonderful! The Airbnb was exactly as we pictured. The area, Palaiokastritsa, is also amazing. Two beautiful beaches and a monastery within walking distance, a few good restaurants right by the Airbnb, and the views in town are breathtaking. Also I would highly recommend taking Angela up on the complimentary boat ride. We did a half day out on the water by ourselves and it was perfect. We went to some caves and secluded beaches, had fun swimming, and the boat was easy to figure out and drive. Well worth it.

L’alloggio é molto carino, pulito e spazioso, con anche la possibilità di parcheggiare gratuitamente nell’immediata vicinanza. Si trova in un piccolo paesino tranquillo semplice da raggiungere in auto. La proprietaria si é anche preoccupata di farci trovare dell’acqua in bottiglia e del cibo per la colazione, frutta fresca compresa. Durante il soggiorno ci ha gentilmente sostituito lenzuola e asciugamani senza bisogno che noi chiedessimo qualcosa. CONSIGLIATISSIMO!!

Das Haus von Maria befindet sich in einem kleinen Bergdorf und ist in die örtliche Bebauung eingebunden. Die Erreichbarkeit ist über etliche Steigungen, Gefällstrecken und engen Kurven mit dem Auto gegeben. Die Lage ist gut und es ist nett auf der Terrasse zu sitzen und die vorbeikommenden Nachbarn zu grüßen. Besonders nett ist der Kontakt mit Marias Mutter, die die Begrüßung, check in und check out übernimmt und auch gelegentlich für das leibliche Wohl (Begrüßungskuchen, Getränke, Barbeque und Gemüse sorgt. (Vielen Dank nochmal dafür!) Das Haus ist, wie beschrieben, gut ausgestattet, bestens für die Eigenversorgung geeignet und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt und die Ruhe abseits der Touristenströme genossen. Ich empfehle die Unterkunft (und die Umgebung) von Maria sehr gerne weiter - sie ist einfach, sehr schön und ganz anders als in den touristisch geprägten Orten. Schade, das es im Haus kein W-LAN gibt. Liebe Maria, herzlichen Dank!
