Wake up in the morning to the soft light through the sliding doors, and end the day quietly at night while watching the shadows fall on the garden. The time here is memorable not only for what you see, but also for the temperature of the air, the feel of the soles of your feet, and the quietness of the sounds. It's nice to talk to someone, or to spend time alone. I hope this place is a place where you can take a little distance from your daily life and check your own outline. The name "Ootan" we wanted to create an inn where you can encounter landscapes, air, people, words, and stories you have never encountered before. A little story will surely be born in this space where you spend your time.

[Kyomachi House for Rent] An inn with an open-air bath and a side view of eight buildings

Relax with your family at this restful place. It is a 10-minute walk from JR Tanbaguchi Station, and appears in a quiet residential area near Shimabara Daimon, a world cultural heritage site, Nishi Hongan-ji Temple, which is a remnant of the flower town. This facility lined with eight buildings has an open-air bath and a rim side where you can see the exterior and tsubo garden with lattices and curtains that are characteristic of the Kyomachiya. Each building has been changed, and it is a wish that it is worthy of a journey where you can feel the detailed and rich sensibility unique to Japan and reflect on the scenes of the story.

The location of the hotel is in a place where you can walk to downtown area of Kyoto and famous temples. It is a very convenient place.

Our inn was apparently built in the early Showa period. We have renovated the bathroom and kitchen areas to make your stay more comfortable while still retaining the charm of the townhouse, such as the low ceilings and narrow, steep stairs. Why not try experiencing a bit of Kyoto life? Please note that we will charge a local accommodation tax (200 yen per person per night) in addition to the accommodation fee.
