House holiday rentals in Kahawatta

We traveled as a group of 6 to Villa Acres Green for a one-night getaway. The place was truly beyond our expectations and the pictures don’t do justice to the place! The property is spacious and gives you a sense of seclusion from the rest of the world. The vast garden is scattered with lots of trees, a pond and a well maintained lawn with benches and hammocks for a nice evening chill. The pool is much bigger than you’d expect and was clean. The tiles in the pool are starting to break so a little caution would be advised. We opted to get our food prepared at the property. The BBQ dinner was excellent, but the Sri Lankan breakfast (kiri bath) was only average. It’s possible that the food maybe a hit of miss in our experience. The rooms were nice; spacious and clean! The A/C cooled well which was more than appreciated since the days were scorching! All in all, we had a fantastic experience at the property and would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Hikkaduwa.

We had a lovely time at the property, would definitely visit and stay again. Very friendly staff and plenty of freedom and privacy. Couple of things to note, there is only one fridge for the 5 rooms we stayed at, and only one bath tub in the 5 rooms. Food was good, there are some nice shacks near by. location is excellent.

We absolutely loved Podis villa 02. The villa is fabulous, squeaky clean, with wooden floors, incredibly spacious bathrooms, crisp linen, bath robes, soft and comfy bedding. The saltwater pool is beautiful, clean, & equipped with nightlights and even a poolside shower & toilet. The little details to the house is what really sets this place apart! The house also has a quiet terrace frm which one can enjoy the stars by night and the tranquillity of coconut palms during the day. The home is perfect for friends and family, especially with children. They've even provided cots on request and cute stuffed toy ducks for kids. The beach is a short walk away and the JHL restaurant at Hikkaduwa Town is a lovely spot to eat and enjoy the beach throughout the day. Sampath & Ruhun are wonderful! They come by to clean the pool daily, helped us rearrange the bed for the children and are so warm and hospitable! We loved every minute and can't wait to be back next time for longer!

Fabulous villa for our two families of 4 adults and 4 children (all under 5). The pool was the best we had during our time in Sri Lanka with a guard on duty to clean daily as well as being located in a lush garden where we had water monitors, mongoose and eagles fly above us. Jayantha is a true master in the kitchen. Please order his dinners if you stay as they taste delightful as well as cheaper than out at restaurants. The breakfast was even better with different options each day (egg hoppers, pancakes, omelette plus fresh fruit and toast). If we return we would not hesitate to stay again.

We spent Christmas at Wally and Sampa's villa. It was beautiful, quietly located, with everything you need and corresponded to the descriptions in the listing. We had a wonderful time in this lovingly furnished house and the staff Kapila and his wife fulfilled every wish for us and cooked a delicious Christmas dinner. Communication was smooth and one of the best places to stay for us in Sri Lanka. We would come back.

What an amazing place, in a beautiful area of the island. From the moment we drew up to the gates of the Dutch House, we were greeted by the most gorgeous Dutch villa, and the all-pervasive smile of Kannan, who looked after us like members of the family during our stay. The house sits high on the hills outside of Bandarawela, up a short, but very steep road, which gives it a great vantage point over the surrounding lush hills and mountains. It’s a great climate so a gin and tonic on the veranda was a joy. We made use of the pool, and although not heated, you soon get used to it. The surrounding gardens are very well kept and have a plethora of birds and other wildlife. The food prepared by the on site chef was wonderful, as was the attentive service from Kannan. We also had the best sleep we've had during our trip. Even if you’re not in the immediate area, a drive here and a stay in this wonderful house, will surely be one of the highlights of any trip. It was for ours.

The villa is nestled in nature, offering a truly serene and peaceful atmosphere. The host, Vidura, is exceptionally warm and accommodating, while the cook, Sewwandi, is absolutely outstanding!

Breathtaking view!! early mornings on the jetty by the lake are mind-blowing. Host was very responsive and our caretakers were also very helpful and provided us with all the assistance we needed. We had a great stay. 10/10 would recommend for a peaceful, relaxing holiday

Beautiful modernly renovated traditional house. Still going on as you get that feeling that some things have but been finished yet. However clean everywhere and many modern utilities available, like oven, blender. Overall great stay and friendly host

It was our 1st time in Sri Lanka and Dushanthi made sure we were well taken care of and provided loads of additional information that helped with our itinerary. We were pleasantly surprised with welcome snacks and a refreshing drink upon our arrival and a taste of Ceylon tea as a gift before we left. There was always a personal guard during the evenings, so safety was never an issue. The home was definitely spacious enough for 6 pax, and even more. We liked the fact that 2 rooms had private entries, hence our driver had his own space and a comfortable room. Situated right across the shore, we spent a few evenings watching the sunset from there. Blissful way to wind down the day. There is a convenience store, pharmacy and a reataurant right next to this apartment, making it easy for quick fix needs. Definitely will stay here again when we do visit next.

I had a wonderful stay. The location is convenient, and the garden is beautiful. Spending a week with the animals was truly memorable. The owner was kind and always thoughtful. I would love to stay here again.

Done accidentally found this bungalow and booked right away. Mongoose and monkeys are often found on the property. Co-host Udaya is very sensitive, always helpful! His wife cooks very tasty, I recommend! We lived in this place for about 2 weeks, I liked everything, the Internet is stable.

My kids loved the house. So did I. It is a beautifully and uniquely designed house. It was clean, comfortable, relaxing, and practical. The kitchen had all amenities that you would need at home. The laundry machine with detergent was a bonus. All bedrooms had a functioning AC. We had a very nice sleep. We used only two bedrooms but there was one more room. The host was friendly, responsive, and caring. We chose this house because it was close to the Leisure World Water Park which was about 1.5 km away. The host kindly arranged a tuktuk ride both way’s. All in all, we had such a great stay. It was beyond our expectation.

The owner and his wife helped us with any questions, were always in touch. Good internet, fast, but there are restrictions on gigabytes, check with the owner before entering if you need it for work. Air conditioning greatly saves from the heat. The place is 7 minutes by scooter from the beach, quieter than the main streets, we like it.

Great stay for the night! Little bit deep inside but with the instructions given it was easy to find. Washrooms were renovated and clean. Great communication and response by host for any concerns or questions we had

The hosts are a delightful family who also live there. Never met Nishan who is simply a front man for the listing. Would recommend booking via Bookingdotcom for a much better price. A mistake that we learned from. Property delightful and also host family who also live there. But Nishan describing the listing as the entire property is simply not true! Buyer beware.

Excellent value stay with easy accessibility into Hikkaduwa. Host Damith was very helpful with instructions and even gave us a lift to the bus station!

Isuri’s hospitality and genuineness set her apart. We were treated like family. The property is spacious and a short walk to the beach and train station. The kitchen was functional and the washing machine also had a drying option to dry clothes, which was a pleasant surprise. We left happy and would stay again.

We had a fantastic two weeks here. It’s in an idyllic spot very quiet but walkable to all the bars and shops The apartment was fabulous, great living space , comfortable beds and lovely showers. AC worked perfectly and kept us all cool. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a really great stay at Ishane's place, he was super helpful and responsive. The pool is cleaned every day and was super nice and lit at night which was really special. The beds are comfy and big and the bathrooms lovely and clean. It's just a short walk to the beach and some good restaurants nearby. We would love to stay there again and definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in Hikkaduwa 😊

Beautiful hidden gem. Very private space in hikkaduwa. Exceptionally clean and well decorated. Large space. Host is very friendly and accommodating. Needed a later check out.

First of all, Trishan and his family are amazing, welcoming, helpful and very heart-warming people! Location of the house is very good, beach only a two minute walk away. The house is also very clean. We didn't use the kitchen but it seemed to have everything you need and more. Only downside is the proximity of the rail track but for this price the house is a gem! Thanks to Trishan and the whole family!

Sameera was very helpful from the beginning. We went to his place when a monkey created an electric shortage in the whole country, and he made sure that we had enough water, lamp and kept us posted about all the updates. During our stay we were able to enjoy the monkey family in the trees around, the peacock that was chilling around, many birds and reptiles. It is surrounded by the jungle so the view and vibe is great, be prepared to fight mosquitos if they usually love you (my partner didn't get as much as me). The kitchen was the best equipped we had so far in any Airbnb we had, as digital nomad since 7 months around Asia, it was very appreciated. The bed was comfortable. We struggled a bit with the washing machine that is half manual, and wasn't draining the water completely. Wi-Fi lagged a bit per moment, but nothing excessive, it was otherwise fast and perfect to work with. Overall a very great quality price, we highly recommend Sameera's place.
