Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kagoshima

Great, comfortable place at peaceful location, with direct sea view.

We were a family of four staying at Fu-Ga’s charming little house for six nights—and we truly wished we could have stayed longer! It was by far the most lovingly cared-for, cleanest, best-organized, and best-equipped Airbnb we’ve ever experienced. A fully equipped kitchen, a beautiful bathroom, a complete laundry setup with everything you could need, and even a small terrace made our stay extra comfortable. The house had a wonderfully fresh atmosphere and a pleasant scent throughout—perfect for relaxing and spending a quiet day at home. It’s set in a peaceful neighborhood within walking distance of the train station. Most of all, the host’s warmth, thoughtfulness, and helpfulness made us feel completely at home. Truly a perfect stay—our highest recommendation!

Mike's house is consistently built and decorated in Japanese style, wonderfully quiet location, sea view, terrace, plenty of space and equipped with everything you need to feel comfortable, cook, relax. We stayed there for 4 nights and felt super comfortable. However, it is advisable to have a rental car to be flexible on the island; Mike also supported us there with the rental, everything worked out great. Were our most relaxing days in Japan here!

This was by far the best accommodation we’ve stayed at. Toru was super responsive and helpful with any queries prior to check in. When we mentioned that we were going to BBQ, he gave recommendations for shops to buy meat and other groceries from. He even went the super extra mile and helped to set up the BBQ seats/equipment and even lit a fire for us with his own charcoal, all before we arrived!!! I believe Toru has far exceeded the bar for Japanese hospitality. Instead of feeling like a typical guest in any hotel/Airbnb stay, he made us feel like we were distant relatives visiting him for the day. Amenities in the house were amazing and perfectly maintained too! 11/10 would recommend this place. Bonus points cause there’s cats.

Very friendly and responsive host, I stayed a couple nights and enjoyed having a kitchen as a vegetarian. It's cost friendly for a single person too, which was much appreciated. The unit is a studio with a kitchen, and a separate (shared) toilet and separate (shared) shower area. - Be warned, the shower room is dated and hasn't had a deep cleaning in a bit, but very functional. The local bathhouse will probably be more enjoyable, but I was lazy and used the shower during my stay. - The toilet looks newly renovated/constructed. - The studio is clean and well equipped. Beds are firm but you could probably double up on the mats to make it softer. The studio unit is pretty spacious too. There are also many experiences offered along with the stay (just book with the host), such as local cuisine cooking, martial arts, boating trips, driving drop offs, etc. They also have free bike rental, though I didn't use it.

I stayed for 5 nights on my first trip to Amami.Above all, Hiroko's hospitality was amazing.You can prepare a lot of local specialty sweets, and there is also a large amount of tea and water in the refrigerator, not only ice, but all the condiments... and that's exactly what you do.The building itself is by no means new, but the interior is neat and tidy and full of cleanliness.There are also plenty of towels, bedding, and dishes, so there is absolutely no problem if you visit empty-handed.We've used a lot of Airbnb, both domestically and internationally, but it's a top level of satisfaction.I also booked it in 5 months during my stay because of the coziness.I can't wait for my next visit.

We just had a wonderful 3 days, very relaxing and restful. It's great at home, everything you need, and it's a stone's throw from the beach!

A brilliant airbnb. We stayed as two people and the apartment was big enough. Very clean. Did not need to use the kitchen, but it was really useful having a washing machine and rack inside and outside on the balcony to dry your clothes. Great location close to the station and mall with great selection of restaurants nearby. Mami san kindly answered any questions we had very quickly, including recommending some car parks for us. She also let us leave our luggage at the apartment on the day of the flight so we didn’t have to lug it around or find a coin locker. Such a fantastic price too! ありがとうございます〜

What a lovely lady! We were treated like royalty! When we left, after 2 very comfortable nights, we were given amazing bento boxes for our train journey. Also lots of other treats during our stay. If you are looking for a modern apartment this may not be for you…but we loved it.

A nice apartment in a quiet area. There is everything you need to stay. The apartment is located a bit away from the city center, but you can get there quickly by train or tram. I'd love to come back when I'm back in Kagoshima.

Good apartment, nice room, large space, enough amenities, elevator, no stairs, neighboring stations and central stations, hosts are required to answer questions, and shortcomings of the United States and China will be heard before 23:00. Guests who go to bed early need to pay attention, generally worth recommending.

The host was very kind, and I had a smooth stay from check-in to check-out.The room was clean and cozy as pictured.There were also coffee shops, delicious ramen shops, and convenience stores nearby, which was very convenient and comfortable.I think you can use it with peace of mind for any occasion, including travel and business trips.I would love to use it again!Thank you.😊

After 3 weeks in Japan, i can easily say this was by far the best bang for the buck place we stayed in. Great roomy apartment, walkable from the main train station, right next to shopping streets. The city itself deserves more attention from visitors. Stay at Perch for your home base to explore!
