Built in 1846 and secluded on 5 gorgeous acres bordering Turkey Creek on the west and a paved walking trail on the south, this charming cottage was the home of Charles Schifferdecker, where he brewed his beer to sell in the "mining camp" called Joplin. This renovated space is on the second floor* of an historic downtown building just steps off the original Route 66. *Climbing steps is required. The staircase is wide, solid, with sturdy handrail, and has a landing halfway up. We're happy to help carry luggage, if that's an issue.
