Barn accommodation in Iowa

My partner and I had a wonderful experience staying here. The farm was exactly what we needed for our little get-away. Stievenson Farm is definitely a place I would be listing again when I need another break from the city. Tamra was so helpful when she would pop around and the instructions were very simple and easy to understand. We especially enjoyed the company of Rodie and Bentley (animals). Most idealic place we stayed during our road trip. The couch in the back to watch the sunset is fantastic. Genuinely a unique experience. Would stay again if we are in the area

We needed a place to get off the road on short notice and we were fortunate to find this beautiful historic place to lay our heads. Kari was friendly and her inn was well appointed. I wish we had time to examine all the historical info and visit the beer barn. We had a peaceful quiet night.

Kari was great. let me know she was out of town but she would be returning that evening I checked in. communicated about the property and was super helpful. the price was great... a single room with a jacuzzi tub... definitely worth the price and when I head to that part of the state in the future will definitely stay with Kari again!

Had a great stay here! It is very quiet and just outside of Cherokee. The barn has just about everything you could need for a week’s stay. There are 5 disk golf holes around the property which is a nice bonus. Not a problem but just to be aware that the bathroom is on the ground floor which requires descending the spiral staircase to get to. The bedroom with two beds isn’t completely closed off as the wall that borders the living room does not meet the ceiling. You can easily hear everything happening in either room. The master bedroom is nice and quiet. Lori and Dude are very kind and pleasant to talk to. When my family returns to Cherokee, we most definitely would love to stay here again!

This Airbnb location was probably one of the best we’ve ever stayed at. Christine and Kevin were lovely hosts! The barn was rustic and charming. We spent most of our time outside on the deck or gathered around the kitchen table. We could not have asked for a better place to stay during our visit to Spillville! My niece and nephew especially enjoyed helping out with the chicken chores. The fresh eggs were a hit! Thank you for being so wonderful and accommodating!

we chose The Estate House due to it's convenient location to Bella Terre Vinyard where our daughter was being married. only 1.5 miles. we were able to house family and a few friends. 6 bathrooms was a huge plus!! plenty of comfy bedrooms, space to socialize, play pool ect. kitchen was huge and we'll stocked. only 20 -30minutes to downtown Omaha for food ect...we had an amazing week. many thanks

We returned this year to celebrate our anniversary and were once again struck by the same sense of peace and relaxation that made our first visit so memorable. The setting continues to be a perfect place to unwind, recharge, and enjoy the natural beauty of the the driftless area of Iowa. Whether you're passing through or looking for a destination to slow down and escape the day-to-day, this location is absolutely worth the stay. We spent the day on Saturday renting bikes and enjoying Decora with a great dinner at Rubiyat and a stop at Pulpit Rock Brewery afterwards. We would wholeheartedly recommend both the property and the host to anyone seeking a welcoming, comfortable, and serene retreat.

Our second time using this wonderful space. Kathi and Gary are excellent hosts. The property is lovely and spacious. We will be back next year! Five stars!

The Barn House was in a beautiful location and it housed all 15 of us very comfortably. Very clean. No complaints whatsoever. Also, Gerarda was very friendly while also maintaining privacy. 10/10 experience.

Stayed to attend Grinnell College graduation. We ended up having the whole farmhouse to ourselves. It was so comfy, inviting and had everything we needed. Didn’t have to clean up or have any check out procedures. Stacey was the most super host ever.

We had wonderful stay this weekend in Dubuque. The restored barn and outdoor settings are even better than the pictures. It is clear a lot of time and care went into restoring the place for a comfortable and relaxing get away. Our hosts were accessible and great at communicating our arrival and check out.

One Orange Centre was a delightful home away from home. Miriam made us feel like family. She had a charcuterie board and snacks ready when we arrived. We all enjoyed visiting and learning about her and the Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home. Our beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were beautifully tiled. The weather surprised us with a snow storm but we felt warm and relaxed in the sunroom. Miriam and her co-hosts; Bella, Beto, & Bobo shared their home and made for a wonderful get-a-way weekend. Thank you for all the food, wine, and making a birthday weekend fabulous. The lotus candle was a special treat on a delicious cake. Thank you Miriam. It is a weekend we won't forget.

Great place to stay for a great price!

So happy we decided to stay here. Great place to stay. Kids and I really enjoyed it. Not sure if it’s possible or makes sense, given it’s primarily a wedding venue versus an apartment, but a little area with a tv and sofa/futon would have been nice helping get kids wound down for bed. Overall we really loved the place. There were so many unique special touches that made us smile. Plenty of space and restrooms. Kids LOVED climbing the ladder to their bedroom. They also had fun just being in the country. By the trees and pond. :) Great barn. Clean and charming. We’ll be back. Thank you so much!

During our weekend getaway to the Tulip Festival in Orange City, we spent a night at Shanna’s place. My 7-year-old had an unforgettable time playing with the cats, chicks, goats, and horse. We initially planned for a barbecue night, but the weather wasn’t ideal, so we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at a restaurant just 15 minutes away. Shanna and her family were incredibly welcoming, this is a highly recommended spot for a short visit. My son had his first experience milking a goat, feeding animals, and collecting eggs. He was even gifted a dozen fresh eggs he gathered from their organic chickens.
