Family-friendly holiday rentals in Illinois River

Great spot to go with friends and family. They have a water park, arcade, mini golf, and an ice cream place. We had a fun time at this resort and would definitely do it again!

We had a lovely stay. it's super cute, private, and quiet. we will definitely book again. there are 13 other cabins to chose from. We also enjoyed the town and near by venues. Cool place❣️

I stayed at Jochen's place for a month, and could not have been happier with it. The space itself is airy, open, and beautiful -- a perfect mixture of modern amenities and layout with the charm of an old house. So much natural light, and so many places to read, think, write, work, or just sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. I work remotely, and the internet was excellent and very reliable (I was getting ~350Mbps down, ~20Mbps up). The kitchen was a high point, as were the large bathtubs and backyard garden. The location was also phenomenal: beautiful streets, lined with mature trees, really feels like walking through the forest on some stretches. Two blocks from campus, and also an easy walk to Urbana downtown, with the farmers market, library, grocery stores, etc. Jochen was an exceptional host -- he was traveling, but was still extremely responsive the entire time, and very helpful with any issues or questions I had. Highly recommended! Would stay again in a heartbeat.

This is our 2nd time staying at Michael’s place, and both times he was very responsive and helpful when we needed it. The place provided the nice peaceful stay near Starved Rock we were looking for. We will definitely be back.

The villa was exactly as advertised. Clean, spacious and very welcoming.

Great place to stay

We were in Springfield for a horse show at the fairgrounds. The house was close for us and in a very nice neighborhood. The house was very clean, stocked well and had tons of room. There was a very nice new deck off the kitchen that we enjoyed sitting out on in the morning and evenings. Overall, I would highly recommend this house for anyone staying with a larger group. Lori

The McCully Heritage stay was absolutely perfect for us. The site was so private and serene. Us and our two shepherd mutts had such a fun time exploring. We saw a big old buck deer, a skink, and wildflowers. The cabin was very comfortable and clean, everything we needed. Tons of hot water, a really comfy bed, and great movie DVD selection.

Another great stay at Kent’s home. Backyard is wonderful and our group of 12 was very comfortable. Gracious host and great communication.

So cute! Go for a walk…the neighbors have beautiful gardens and the bakery is great.

Our stay at the farm loft in Carrollton, Illinois was absolutely delightful. The space is adorable, tastefully decorated, cozy, and incredibly comfortable. It was the ideal retreat from the summer heat, staying refreshingly cool even on the warmest days. The location couldn’t be better. Nestled right in the heart of the quaint town of Carrollton, the loft is just a short stroll from a variety of charming boutiques and local gems. Whether I was enjoying a relaxing morning coffee or exploring the nearby shops, everything I needed was right at my fingertips. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with small-town charm and thoughtful touches. I’ll definitely be back!

Jenna is a wonderful host! We enjoyed our stay very much & we’re treated more like family… snacks & lots of amenities included! Her home was beautifully decorated, but homey & comfortable at the same time. Next time we will bring our pup, she’ll really love the fenced-in yard. We would definitely rebook!

We always stay at The Baldwin House when we visit family in Streator. We feel right at home and most everything is a short walk away. The park, Walgreens, a delicious bakery, coffee shops, fabulous restaurants, and unique shopping. I highly recommend Toni's Airbnb and the restaurants, Good Morning, Good Day and Gaetano's Vault. We sleep and eat well in Streator. 💛😊

Beautiful views, great layout, and extremely dog friendly with nice touches make this place stand out! Very close to all the state parks in the area, but there’s plenty to do on site as well. Check in was seamless, we had clear instructions throughout, and the place was perfect!

We absolutely loved staying here and look forward to staying again. It was super close to downtown Ottawa, but we honestly didn't need to leave either. The restaurant in the marina was good and the amenities: sand bar, sand pit, live music, river view, pools were perfect for a family with kids. I cannot recommend enough!

Harbor Inn, Captain’s Quarters was a great get away. Wonderful host and nice home. Great waterside community with close proximity to great bars and restaurants!

We had a wonderful family gathering at This Must Be the Place over the holiday weekend. We enjoyed being at the Cottages at Heron's Landing - the location was wonderful and our cottage was cute and cozy! The activities available were plentiful. We especially enjoyed many walks on the Harbor Walk and on our little cottage loop plus visiting the Bluegill Boathouse for dinner and beverages. Our young grandson really liked the patriotic parade that went right in front of the house!

Absolutely loved our visit! House was perfect for our family of 5. Kids loved the lofts. We loved the cozy home, view, and proximity to Starved Rock & Matthiessen State Parks. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We come from Chicago a couple times a year to hike at Starved Rock, Matthiesen, etc, so we thought we would try staying for a full weekend. This place was the perfect fit. It was pet friendly, so our dog could come along, and it had great amenities at the resort. The staff was very responsive and easy to communicate with.
