Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Hveragerði

The renovated water tower is a lovely and clean home. There are large sliding doors on each floor that open up to give access to the outdoors or cool off the home. The main bathroom with a shower is located on the ground floor and comes with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. There is also a hair dryer and many towels available. The bathroom on the second level was small and could be accessed through the main bedroom. The kitchen was bright and open. There was plenty of seating for the 4 of us, although the bench seat by the kitchen table could be thoroughly washed. Plenty of dishes and kitchen essentials. Washer and drying rack were a pleasant addition to the home and made traveling light easier. The rooms were cozy and the beds are comfortable. The stairs are steep but easy to navigate for our children (ages 7 and 9). The views from inside and from the deck are beautiful. The two birds nesting outside are quite friendly. Earlier guests named them Chuck and Larry.

Absolutely amazing spot & even better hosts. My husband and I came to Iceland for a vow renewal after having to change our wedding plans due to COVID 5 years ago (we originally planned an elopement in Iceland), and Anthony went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time, and we did! Overall, this was an absolutely outstanding stay. Every single thing we needed was managed quickly & Anthony went beyond anything we could have asked to take care of us. Plus, the airbnb itself was so charming. Definitely recommend if looking for a quaint port town close the Reykjavik! I wouldn’t come here for a more isolated experience or to get away from the hustle of Reykjavik, but I think the port town was a great alternative to staying in Reykjavik itself.

We loved this place! Many reviews stated that they were glad that they had stayed multiple days or wished that they had. We have absolutely no regrets of spending two nights here. The cottage is spacious and clean. Also, the scenery is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We would have been happy staying here all week if there wasn't so much to see and do in Iceland. Take advantage of hiking on the horse trails and the local hot springs. This is a great halfway point on the Golden Circle.

Our stay at Skeid2 was simply perfect—surrounded by stunning scenery and packed with everything you could possibly need for a cozy escape. Fantastic experience! One tiny mishap: we lost the main door key (oops!). But the hosts? Absolute legends. They handled it with such grace, didn’t even charge us, and just smiled it off. Talk about hospitality! It felt less like a rental and more like a warm welcome from old friends. Highly recommended if you're chasing peace, views, and good vibes.

What an amazing place. The cottage is located in a beautigful fjord with an uncredibld view towards the sea and mountains partly covered in snow. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Highly recommend staying in this beautiful cottage as it is a great spot to chill, relax and have a great time with family and friends. We will be back. Thank you so much guys! A beautiful place at a beautiful and peaceful location easily accessible to Reykjavik and Thingvellir onwards to Strokkur. The house is clean, and as described. Unnur is easily accessible and respond to queries promptly.

I stay in a magical place in front of the lake with a breathtaking view. The house was very clean, very quiet, comfortable and equipped with everything you need. Super location, as well as communication with hosts. Follow the instructions of the host carefully to get to the place, not very easy to reach with Google maps. Highly recommended! The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!

It was easy to arrive at the stay. The apartment was beautiful and clean. The drying washing machine was the highlight of the accommodation. A safe and peaceful atmosphere throughout our trip.

Beautiful apartment with an excellent location, we enjoyed a great space with comfortable beds. Silla is very friendly and her husband too, we were able to greet them both. If you have the chance to stay in this apartment, don't think twice.

The Airbnb was easily accessible and well equipped with washing machine, dryer and fully equipped kitchen. There was also a designated parking spot for your vehicle. Magnus was responsive and extremely helpful in answering any queries. Would recommend this place

Our stay at Audur’s place was great. Amenities were as described and the place was extremely clean and private. It was plenty of space for four.

Heiða’s place was adorable. We loved it. You are surrounded by beautiful views. The space itself is very clean and cozy. We really enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful apartment at a new development, easily reachable by car. We found everything we needed here as a couple visiting Iceland for the first time. The place is very clean and modern, and is a cosy and comfortable base while exploring the stunning country.

WOW! what an amazing place to stay!!!! I have endless things to say about our experience here. the views and surroundings were immaculate. so peaceful and such a wonderful way to wake up in the mornings. everything was so clean and the rooms / beds were so comfortable. the bonus was the little spa area, the facilities were so clean and amazing. plenty of room to change, bathroom, showers, sauna. and the outdoor waterfall hot tubs were perfect temperature while it was cold outside. I would 100% stay here again!
