The Old Reading Room West Stafford, Dorset.

The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. We have now lovingly restored, decorated and furnished this amazing building into a cosy self catering holiday retreat, "far from the madding crowd" Open plan, comfy double sofabed, wood burner, country walks and fabulous village pub.

Located on the edge of a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) our home and adjoining annexe sit in tranquil, leafy surroundings. You will have direct access onto the SSSI heathland where you will find a variety of wildlife including deer, foxes, sand lizzards and nightjars. We are a 5 minute drive from the convenience of Wareham town and have many beautiful landmarks, beaches and attractions nearby.

The Hayloft is located in the heart of our working farm in the beautiful isle of Purbeck. There is a permissive footpath from the hayloft across the fields to kimmeridge bay. It is important to remember that you will be on a working farm so there may be noises and occasional smells that come with this. However, if you’re looking for an authentic farm stay with coastal walks on your doorstep, then look no further. NB. Sadly I do not accept children
