Rustic (...TV, but NO INTERNET!) cabin in the woods on the North Ridge of Lake Wister. 20 minutes from Poteau. 30 minutes from the Winding Stair / Talimena Scenic Byway in the Ouachita National Forest. Hiking, swimming, or just relaxing on the deck!
“This cabin is overall amazing! It’s a little ways from town but nothing too bad. There are neighbors so you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere. The drive can be a little tricky, but it’s doable! Kathleen has an amazing cabin, and she has stocked the place with so many things! There’s games, a canoe, a huge grill, and a nice deck. If you think you forgot something, don’t worry because you could more than likely find it at the cabin! It was a great place! I will definitely be coming back! The host was so responsive and the hospitality was over the top!”

“This was such a quiet and secluded stay. We really enjoyed getting away from the world at this time. Communication with Chase and Holly (hosts) was amazing! What we really enjoyed most were the stars as we soaked in the jacuzzi, and the long strolls/hikes on the property. We would recommend this to anyone who wants to get away and have some privacy!”

“What an experience! Extremely close to the Talimena road, especially if you don’t mind taking a dirt County Road, it’s only a couple miles away! Fantastic view of the back porch, would make for an amazing sunset and stargazing on a clear night. It truly is a great patio to enjoy a beverage and have some fantastic conversation with some even more fantastic people. We talked on the patio for about 3 hours during my stay! They’re both full of super interesting stories, local recommendations, and just overall super nice people. Couldn’t ask for better hospitality when staying somewhere. The room is very nice and comes more stocked than any AirBnB I’ve ever stayed in. Plenty of grocery items and toiletries, along with plenty of towels and robes to use for the hot tub! I will definitely be back if I’m ever in the area, that’s for sure. Thank you again to Terry and Sherri!”
