“This is a small family home and you will share the living spaces with Suki and her husband. But they are friendly and welcoming. In the present coronavirus situation, I was not treated like a potential source of death. There were thoughtful touches, like home-grown flowers, a little chocolate in the bedroom, a ceiling fan and even a lift to the ferry port 2 miles away. There is no communicating door to the bathroom, but it is adjacent to the guest bedroom and was left for my exclusive use. Bedroom feels small, but Suki and Pete were happy for me to use their kitchen and dining room facilities, so I was not cooped up. The rooms are close and walls relatively thin, so if I were Suki I would not want noisy guests or any who kept irregular hours. Overall, for the price, I highly recommend. If you want lots of space and privacy, go elsewhere.”
Sea front en-suite room in pent-house apartment with lift access and private balcony with views of Dovercourt Bay. Close to Dovercourt Station (8 mins. walk) and Harwich International Port (one train stop/10 min. drive). Free on street parking in front. TV, wi-fi, coffee and tea in room. “Anne and Trevor were wonderful hosts! They made us feel very welcome a cup of tea after a long day cycling, provided us somewhere to store our bikes, dry our wet clothes, and gave us great advice for heading on the next day. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfy. If you wake up early enough you can see the sun rise over the sea! Just a shame we couldn't spend more time there!”
We are OPEN! There are local pubs running take away service at the moment and Suffolk Food Hall is an excellent food retailer, so while you are with us, there is much to do and eat! Light, bright outhouse conversion with private (well behaved!) dog proof garden, private entrance and dedicated off street parking. Ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area. This accommodation is in a rural residential area ideal for peace and quiet. Happy to accommodate well behaved dogs.
“Loved Henry’s place, great location for some relaxing and walking. The lodge itself is as described and lovely, we really enjoyed it. The shower is really great and the bed is nice and firm and comfortable. The kitchen has all you need and there is a tv with freeview. Lovely to sit out on the decking with a drink after a day walking and exploring watching the dogs play in the garden. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and Henry was great at answering any questions we had. Anyone that comes to stay in this fabulous little lodge won’t be disappointed.”
