House holiday rentals in Haimps

This is a beautiful place to stay on the banks of the Charente which we enjoyed from the canoe but just loved seeing it flowing along edging the grounds. We came on the train which is a very easy journey from Paris to Jarnac. It is then less than an hours walk along the cycle path or quicker along the very quiet road. The market in Jarnac is excellent and there’s some nice cafes and bars. In Bourg Charente itself the bar tabac sells morning baguette and croissants, especially good to put an order in the day before. Also in the village La Ribaudiere restaurant was absolutely amazing and an experience not to be missed. So this is a great place to stay if you are car free like us but bicycles really help too especially with direct access to the 400 km path La Flow Velo. Lots of fun! Thanks to Andrea and Dominic.

Had a great stay, very peaceful place full of nature

Fab place. We loved the use of the kayaks, and the pool was great. Very comfy beds. Kitchen was very well equipped. Only a 6 mins drive to a hypermarket and very quiet roads . Tony was very helpful and friendly. We would come again. Thoroughly recommend.

Lovely property. Fantastic pool. We were a family of 8 + child and it was very comfortable. Close to Cognac and an hours drive from pool. Welcoming and responsive hosts. Definitely recommend.

We stayed at Elodie’s house for four months and it was a great stay! The home is beautiful and clean. Location is great for peace and quiet while being close to Cognac. Last but not least, the hosts Elodie and Greg are welcoming and helpful with anything you might need. Will definitely stay again!

A gem of a place ! It is not easy to find places in the region that are not exorbitantly expensive or furnished from grandma's leftovers; this hits a perfect note with a mixture of stylish antiques and comfort, everything has been thought of down to the Savon de Marseille in the bathrooms! Clearly lots of love has been poured into the house and it shows, from a well stocked larder with everyday essentials (including coffee pods for the machine) to the lovely welcome hamper. The garden at the back overlooking the old monastery is perfect and very secluded and even though it was only April I managed to eat outside each morning and evening (there are 3 other terraces too). The host is on hand easily for tips on where to eat or visit if needed. Tusson is a great village with a good places to eat including the wonderful Gateaux for amazing cakes.

Peaceful place, super nice terrace in front of the garden and the horse meadows! Beautifully decorated cottage, all beautiful and all comfort! The Saintonge region is very beautiful and nice to discover! We had a great time and enjoyed it! Great stay for us, too short, we plan to come back!

Marie Christine is a very welcoming host, her accommodation is large, quiet and private. We were able to visit Angoulême and have a great stay. We will return to it when the opportunity arises.

Lovely spot with rolling hills and idyllic views. The accommodation was perfect for what we needed and cosy warm once we got home from our travels around the countryside. All very tastefully done, will be recommending!

We had the most wonderful 12-night stay in The Farmhouse and enjoyed fabulous hospitality from Sam & Stuart. It is very well equipped with everything that you need for a very comfortable stay. There is a beautiful outdoor space for al fresco dining. There is an enormous barn which has been converted into a games area and is incredibly well equipped with table tennis, pool, darts, table football, a library, and every board game known to man! There is also an invaluable library of information on the local area. The massive heated outdoor pool is such a beautiful area to relax in. With the local church as a backdrop and the sounds of the birds singing in the surrounding trees in the beautiful garden was absolute bliss. The location is a great base to travel from and explore the towns and villages in the surrounding area. We even managed a couple of day trips to La Rochelle and Bordeaux. Thank you so much for such a wonderful and relaxing stay.

The place is very beautiful and serene. The house is clean and very modern. The entrance is a bit difficult to find and you need to bring your own towels, but otherwise it was a lovely stay.

We rented this accommodation for our wedding celebration. An exceptional place that perfectly matched our needs: spacious, welcoming, accessible, functional, safe for children because it is fenced... In short, if you have an event to celebrate or any other type of gathering, go there with your eyes closed, this place will be beyond your expectations once you get there :) We also want to highlight the availability of Dylan who is very accessible with a very professional and understanding attitude towards our wedding. The gite is perfect, everything you need for an ideal stay, the swimming pool is a perfect size for a little one and also is you want to do a few lengths. The garden and barn is spectacular, the perfect space to escape from the heat and eat in a beautiful place. The hosts, Sue and Paul, are so accommodating and so very welcoming, it’s been the best stay and we did not want to go home!! We have already booked to come back, an amazing stay 👍👍👍👍
