Our riverside cottage is on the River Aire in a quiet Yorkshire village near Skipton. It is a haven for wildlife and recently otters have been sighted in the river. Ideally placed for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. In addition to the river, Gargrave is on the Leeds Liverpool Canal and the Pennine Way. To allow a COVID deep clean check in is now not before 5pm. Between 5-7 pm we will meet you (if desired) and there is a lock box if you prefer
“A cosy, very comfortable cottage with wonderful views across the river and countryside beyond. Great location for walking in the countryside and along the canal, with Malham and all the associated walks around there close at hand, accessed either by bus or your own car within about 15 or so minutes. Village has two good log fire dog friendly pubs. Our first time in Gargrave, and would recommend staying here.”
We are 4 miles from the market town of Skipton renowned for its market and castle. Skipton has a wide selection of pubs, wine bars and restaurants. Malham Cove made famous by the filming of scenes from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is 4 miles away with amazing views across the Dales. The Yorkshire Dales National Park provides unlimited hiking and cycling. For the more adventurous cyclists there is Gisburn Forest providing different levels of trails.
“I have said this stay was as expected as my expectations, having read the reviews, were high. We weren’t disappointed. Perfect stay. Amazing value for money. Would highly recommend.”
A charming cosy cottage nestled in beautiful mature gardens set at the end of a private drive with plenty of off-road parking. Just a short stroll to two popular pubs both serving real ales and home cooked food. Surrounded by glorious countryside and with stunning views Appletreewick makes an ideal base for a Yorkshire Dales holiday.
