Monthly Rentals in FOREST OF AE

We’ve just returned from a fabulous stay in Jo’s glamping pod. It’s so much more than a pod and definitely a luxurious option. Both the main bed and the sofa bed are very comfortable and the linens and towels are of great quality. The kitchen is well-equipped and Jo has thought of everything. I always take a bag with essentials such as a sponge, tea towel, washing up liquid etc, but these weren’t needed. Jo even provides shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, should you need it. There is a drawer full of ordinance survey maps and guide books for the area and a folder with all the information you need for your stay. Jo is very friendly and knowledgeable. Not only does she provide great information about the local area, but she will let you know when the badgers are out feeding. We spent almost every evening glued to the window at the back of the garage, watching a large badger cub eating the peanuts and egg that Jo leaves for them. Thanks so much for a fabulous and memorable stay.

Stayed with Ruth and Sylvia for a couple days and it's an experience we won't forget. A true gem of a find and a perfect escape from the mundane day-today. this isn't just a typical airbnb property that your staying at but an entire experience. Waking up to the roosters crow, being cosy by the log fire, eating local produce and interacting with pigs, horses, chickens, geese, cows, an adorable dog and grouse flying around. truly unforgettable. Can't fault the hosts Ruth and Sylvia who were both extremely pleasant and kept us well informed. We'll definetly return in the future.

Appletreewick Cottage is a delightful place to stay in and Lauren a very friendly and responsive host. As well as being very clean, light and well equipped, it was a treat to stay somewhere with lovely pottery and colour throughout the house and use of the patio. It was great to have countryside on our doorstep for local walking and cycling, as well as cafes, shops and the hotel restaurant in Thornhill, and to be able to park straight outside the house. We had a lot of rain, so visiting the galleries in Kircudbright was an added bonus. We hope to go back!

Lovely spacious cottage with enclosed garden in a beautiful setting. Great for the dog with a useful dog walking field in the campsite on the farm. We were only there for two nights but we enjoyed a visit to the nearby castle which has lovely gardens and grounds.
