We offer one of the area’s only PRIVATE lake retreats. Come and enjoy a getaway in our peaceful lake community! The Town of Lake Waccamaw was incorporated in 1911, however, was inhabited by Native Americans for thousands of years. Southeastern North Carolina was covered by a shallow ocean more than two million years ago and you might find interesting fossils including sharks teeth, shells and coral as you swim in the shallow water. Be sure to visit Lake Waccamaw State Park to view the 2.75 million year old whale skull that was discovered embedded in a limestone outcropping several years ago. Measuring nearly 9,000 acres, the lake is unique in many ways ecologically with several endemic species of fish and mollusks (found nowhere else in the world).The lake is about 10 feet at the deepest with shallow waters along its shores, making it perfect for families with children. Tourist attractions include a local museum in a 1904 train depot, Lake Waccamaw State Park, our beautiful library, several restaurants, grocery and retail stores. The guest house is totally private from our home and features a vintage lake theme queen bedroom with flat screen television (Direct TV and DVD player), en suite bathroom with shower. All bed and bath linens are furnished. The common area/living room has a flat screen television (Direct TV and DVD player), a variety of movies, books and magazines, toys and board games for all ages. The fully equipped kitchen has a nice size refrigerator with a separate freezer, electric coffee pot or French press, microwave, and electric stove. A variety of cookware and utensils are available for your use as well as kitchen staple items. A washer and dryer is available in the garage below the apartment. We provide a few basic breakfast items for your first morning. There is a grocery store nearby for most anything else you would need. The living room couch/futon converts to a very comfortable full size bed. There is a large desk for our business clients and free WiFi. Other furnishings include a table with four chairs, rocking chair and leather recliner. Guests have access to an outdoor kitchen with a gas stove, and a double sink. You may use the charcoal or gas grill, enjoy the fire pit (wood provided), several bicycles, and two kayaks. We also have corn hole boards and other yard games you may use. Sorry, we are not able to accommodate your pets, but can recommend a delightful getaway for them. Although our log cabin isn’t on the lake front, it is just steps (the length of a football field!) from your apartment. You may use the pier for sunning, swimming, launching a kayak, fishing, relaxing or picnicking under the shaded canopy. Lake Waccamaw is conveniently located one hour from many beaches in Wilmington, N.C. and one hour from Myrtle Beach, S.C. We personally recommend Sunset Beach, which is about an hour.l

Adorable Downtown lodging-dogs welcome! Apt.102

This 1-bedroom & bathroom is perfect for 1 or 2 guests. It’s in the heart of downtown so you will hear traffic but it’s our most popular place! It has black out curtains a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker & a dining table. There’s a restaurant/bar downstairs so you will hear some noise during their hours of operation they close Tues-Thur@ 8:00pm Fri -Sat@ 9:00pm & closed on Sun. & Mon. The WiFi is slow & goes in & out, if that’s important, you may want to book at one of our other locations.

Our 1 bedroom efficiency is in Loris, SC. 30 minutes from popular Myrtle Beach. Room has a kitchenette with microwave, mini fridge and a 2 burner hot plate. Newly remodeled Bathroom has stand up shower. Bed is a double/full and for this reason we only allow 2 guests. Full wrap around porch overlooking yard.

My visit to the area wasn’t for pleasure, it was last minute and stressful. I contacted Jerry at the absolute last minute possible and he responded quickly and was able to accommodate me on such short notice. I had to add an additional day, also last minute, and again he accommodated me. The property is peaceful and relaxing and the only ‘dangerous’ thing I encountered was the nightly frog that hung out the deck waiting for some snacks ;) Amazing property and amazing host.

I absolutely loved our time at their loft🥰🥰🥰🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🗣️🗣️🗣️💯💯💯💯💯🫂🫂🫂 we are definitely going back if the availability is available!!!! We made the BEST CHOICE EVER!!! If anyone choose to stay there they will not regret it and I mean that in all areas!!! I put this on my SOUL!!! I’m extremely overwhelmed with Gladness by our 5 day stay at their loft ( home)!!!

This home is set on an idyllic private property which is peaceful and quiet, yet just off the main road for easy access. The home is fully renovated and a comfortable place to stay. Wifi works well and the kitchen has all the kitchenware plus basics like coffee, tea, and some canned goods. Living room couch is very comfortable with a modern smart TV. Bedrooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable, with shampoo/conditioner provided. We would highly recommend this place.

Yohanka'd place is definitely an hidden gem. Tucked away in a beautiful and peaceful abode. I felt right at home as soon as I pulled in the driveway. It was so peaceful here. As soon as I stepped inside the scent of "newness" hit my nose. Lol. I have a thing about that. It's weird. I love the Maximalist touch of everything. The colors and cute decor. It was just the right size and so clean. Yohanka was responsive with any questions and very sweet. Love the cute playground and sitting area outside. Any thing you need is basically there. Very nice place. Highly recommended.

1930's Southern Homestead

Robert's house, Granddaddy's Place, was wonderful. I grew up just a few miles from the house and when we drove into the yard, it felt like home. It actually felt like my granddaddy's place. The yard was immaculate with large pecan trees and grape vines. The house was very clean and decorated nicely. Comfortable beds and linens made it easy to get a good night's rest. We didn't cook, except for a simple breakfast each morning, but the kitchen had what we needed had we decided to do so. I enjoyed my morning coffee sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch. enjoying the sounds of a farming community waking up to start the day. The cooing of the doves and the wind through the pecan trees put me at ease immediately. Mr. Robert was very helpful and we found out he knows my family in the area and he attends the same church I grew up in. I was impressed that he included an invitation to church in his guest book. I hope we get to stay with Mr. Robert again.
