Our Scandinavian modern-vintage hideaway is tucked away on the edge of the forest. Open the sliding door and have breakfast with bird sounds, pine scent and squirrels all around you. Outside you can enjoy a shower or bath under the pines, relax in the hammock and a fire pit under the stars. The luxurious and stylish accommodation is located on the Berkel in the historic Hanseatic city of Zutphen. It is a wonderful base for exploring Zutphen and its surroundings all year round. It is only a few minutes' walk to the city. Zutphen is a beautiful city with many historic buildings with nice shops, museums and many restaurants. There are several hiking/cycling routes. So you can explore the IJssel/Berkel area, the forests or Veluwe. From the backyard, you can step onto a SUP or into a canoe.

You have the De Smederij guest house all to yourself and it has its own entrance. Parking is free for guests. Since August 2021, our coach house has been converted into a Guesthouse! Hosting the first Guesthouse was so good that we decided to add a second one.
