House holiday rentals in Dunragit

Really fantastic little place in a stunning part of Scotland. The hosts were fantastic and very helpful despite our fleeting visit.

Our 1st time at Cruggleton Lodge - though we have stayed at the relatively adjacent High Lodge several times. As at HL before, we had an idyllic week - which the facilities at CL provided an excellent foundation for. CL is secluded, set in the edge of woodlands, with breath-taking views out to sea. The walk through the woods down to Garlieston starts literally outside the door. Woods containing deer, hares and a wide variety of bird species. Have already booked again!

We spent 5 nights for half term here and very much enjoyed our stay. The views are magnificent. Very tranquil setting - perfect for sunset walks and relaxation. The kids really enjoyed being able to see the stars at night away from the light pollution of cities. People are polite and friendly. The accommodation had everything we needed and was a great base to explore SW Scotland. Anna was great with communication and an excellent host.

Great farmhouse that we enjoyed with for a group of mum and toddlers. The house and garden was ideal and amazing to be able to use all the facilities in the holiday park, would definitely recommend. The house could do with some sharp knives, some big bowls for serving food and an oven glove but otherwise we had everything we needed.

Our family of 6 enjoyed being in this Holiday park for a whole week. We had the luck to discover a lot of local beauty sites. Furthermore, we visited some Highlands Loch and castles that was amazing. Definitely will be back in future.

Lewis was the perfect host. We needed him for a few things and he showed up/answered our questions right away... He's a very nice person, warm and welcoming. A foal was born the day after we arrived, we're also horse-people so we were especially excited to meet her. Lewis's wife, Ellis, is also very warm and just a lovely person. She's clearly wonderful with horses, we're so happy for them to have this very sweet new life on their property. It's absolutely BEAUTIFUL land, very well planned and lovingly kept in pristine condition. I especially love that there's a balance of letting plants and trees grow naturally and some light trimming/taming. We all felt very relaxed and just happy there!

My second stay at this place. Was very impressed the first time. A very relaxing and very tidy place to spend a weekend with family. Very good view of the sea and Alisa Craig island rock. Caroline and Stuart were very helpful and accommodating with my scheduling of the stay. Highly recommend this place.

Great Place to stay

Gorgeous home and yard! Loved it!

Andrew's place is superb. He met us with a warm welcome and then we were shown our room which has the most incredible view out across the garden and the sea to the Holy Isle. Everything you need is provided for --extremely comfortable bed, very well supplied kitchen and a sparkling bathroom. For me one of the priorities in choosing an air b n b is that it should be accessible for me as a disabled person. Andrew's place fits the bill as i was able to easily access the 2 steps at the front of the bungalow on my sticks and then, again easily, transfer to using wheels around the property. Thanks again Andrew!

The School House, was a great place to stay In Arran. there were 6 adults and one dog and had was plenty of room for us all to get about without knocking into each other. The garden was lovely and spacious, especially for our dog to run around in. The location was ideal for us, as it was only a few minutes drive to one of the best beaches on the Island, Blackwaterfoot. Best of all the house got the most beautiful sunsets right across the road, every night. We were staying there with our Canadian cousins and they absolutely loved the house and the location. An added bonus was we had terrific weather while we were staying there. Would highly recommend. Thanks Sylvia, Paul, Harris and the Canadians.

We had a wonderful stay at Dinvin Cottage. The cottage is beautiful and has everything that you need for a short break. We loved the garden and found it to be private and very relaxing. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring Portpatrick and surrounding areas. We look forward to staying again in the future! Thank you!

Another excellent stay in the cottage! Warm, comfortable and extremely clean with everything we needed. We hope to be back soon!

A beautiful place, I'd even consider It in the winter too, having the log fire going would really comfy If the weather was bad.

Lovely cottage next to a running river with the trees etc as a view. Everything clean and comfortable. Hot tub very clean and easy to use. Met Martyn the host who was very polite and most helpful in what amenities are available in the local area. Would go back without hesitation.

Lovely, well equipped and spacious cottage in a beautiful area. Lots of things to do and see in Wigtown, a town full of history, character and books. Enjoyed walks exploring the town and around the coast. Host Mark was easy to contact,friendly and helpful throughout.

Carrie was a great host and offered many suggestions to us. We were able to check in a day early because I had made an error in booking. She was very accommodating and we really appreciated it. Treats and milk were provided. Lovely back garden as well.

This is an exceptionally good place to stay, with clever design to make the most of the sea views. The accommodation is excellent: clean, smart and attractive. Nearby access to the beach is the icing on the cake. A lovely part of the country. John was very helpful and quick to respond. Thank you, John!

We have just returned from a break at the lodge and it was superb! A gorgeous find where the photos don’t do this justice. Nigel was a fabulous host, communicated well and really friendly. We stayed as a family of four with a 7 year old and 2 year old. Nigel had left a high chair and travel cot for us. The view is fabulous. We made good use of the hot tub and the pool table. The lodge is well equipped, towels for the hot tub and bathroom use, we loved this as saved us so much for packing! There is underfloor heating in the hallway to two bedrooms and the main bathroom that heated the whole lodge, it was super cosy! The kitchen has all you need and the finish in decor and furniture is beautiful. We had a lovely few days out, Mabie farm park is local and great for kids and a walk along the river at dock park. We will absolutely be back and had such a great few days! So pleased we found this place!

A fantastic place to stay… off the beaten track in and amongst the trees surrounded by nature. Very private! The lodge is well equipped, comfortable, warm and with spectacular gardens. We had a lovely long weekend and even saw a red squirrel a few times doing a nut run. Recommend others going to the Butchers and Fishmongers in Kirkcudbright to stock up. Fantastic produce and a great price! Please note the Sat Nav does NOT take you to the right place so follow the detailed instructions (including photos). You can walk from the Lodge to Rockcliffe and Kippford through the forest which is a stunning walk (perfect for dogs off lead) and takes about 30/40 minutes. Bring your own dishwasher tablets, oil and everything else you might need to cook with.

Can’t thank Janice enough for our home from home experience to explore the Lake District. It was exactly as it was in the pictures and more. Janice left milk, bread, butter, jams, orange juice, beers and wine and much more. It was exactly as described! Highly recommended if you’re looking to explore the Lake District Would stay again 100%

We couldn't believe that the docks and rhe aquarium, the shops, tearooms all literally a 2 minute walk away. We didn't have to drive at all. its such a beautiful, quaint wee place, the coffee van down along the water, the Ferry trip was £1.50 each and the amount of books and board games etc in the house made for a lovely peaceful family stay.

A beautifully well kept and presented large home from home. Well laid out with fully equipped kitchen. If you can’t find something, keep looking as the kitchen has everything. Large family bathroom with all rooms well proportioned. Amazing hosts who can’t do enough to make you feel welcome and ease you in to their property.

My stay at Ehen Hall was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The host, Susan was incredibly gracious. Communication before my stay was welcomed ensuring that I found the property without a problem. I really appreciated the gesture of a welcome basket which included local goods as well as other goodies; and also the flexibility of arriving a little earlier than anticipated. The apartment within Ehen Hall was amazing, exactly as described. Spotlessly clean and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. The location was ideal for exploring the western side of the Lakes and there are numerous walks close at hand if you wanted a day without driving. I can also recommend parking at Whitehaven and taking the train to Ravenglass for the Eskdale valley. Overall a truly memorable and enjoyable stay and couldn't recommend the host and accommodation more highly. If I ever visit this part of the Lakes again, I would have no hesitation in returning to Ehen Hall. Thank you Susan.
