I was very pleased from the moment I arrived! There was a sense of serenity surrounding the place and had an immediate calming effect on both me and my dog. The cottage was nicely decorated and very comfortable and clean. The hosts were very nice and approachable. The kids even took me around to meet some of the animals and let my dog meet one of the lambs, which she is very pleased to have been able to do! The chickens were also very cute, especially the dark one that looked like it had pants on! I very much enjoyed waking up to the quiet surroundings. It was sooooo relaxing! Zero complaints.

My husband and I booked a last minute 2 night stay for my birthday. Such a beautifully maintained property. It’s cozy and comfortable with everything you need. The weather started out cold and rainy but changed to sunny and warmer. We sat out on the porch and enjoyed the lake and the sun setting. It was perfect!

The home is spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, with everything you could possibly need. The soaking tub was a dream, and the whole place felt like a warm hug. The host was unbelievably kind, helpful, and generous—going above and beyond in every way. This stay brought healing, joy, and peace back into our hearts, and I’ll be forever grateful. If you’re looking for more than just a place to stay, this is it. We can’t wait to return.

the Backwaters Lodge was the perfect place for our trip. It was my companion’s first time in Wisconsin and he got the most perfect representation of it at this place. The host, Dan, was excellent! Made sure we had everything we needed and was always one text away if we needed him! We will absolutely book this place again.
