We built this secluded, comfortable little house in 1995 to create a retreat from the pressures of everyday life. Now we share its beauty with others looking for a quiet space that feels more like having your own cabin than a hotel or rental. Enjoy!
“A beautiful, secluded cabin in the woods! The peace and quiet, the huge windows, the bird watching, were all divine. Great location. Kitchen and overall amenities were just right. Grateful that the driveway was plowed when we arrived, even with fresh snow earlier that day. Loved for the extra lighting compared to many rentals, and the general cozy feel of the cabin. Glad we brought an extension cord or two, blankets (in addition to sheets and towels), and a few camp chairs for comfort and sitting out on the deck.”
This cozy cabin provides a perfect getaway and is a gem in all seasons, especially during the fall colors or a blowing winter storm. Timber frame cabin built on a hilltop, on 20 acres of old growth maples. Walls of glass, a screened in porch and a wrap around deck bring the outdoors inside. The ridge top location has spectacular views through the trees - with lake views after the leaves drop. The property also boasts a fantastic wood fired cedar sauna - perfect for rejuvenating.
“I had an absolutely wonderful three nights up at the mokki. My only regret is not adding a few more nights. I actually met Stevie and Lonnie on my hike up to the hut. They were both so lovely, and had even started a fire in the stove to greet me. I loved the slow, simple pace of each day. With no connections to the outside world, I reconnected with all the pastimes I'd lost touch with. I spent my days cooking, shoveling snow, stocking wood, reading, writing, drawing, and just being in the moment. There is profound beauty and peace in this place! I would recommend 100x over.”
This third-floor studio apartment with a woodsy feel and loft has all you need for a Twin Cities get-away weekend. As it is four blocks from the Blue Line Metro, it has all of the downtown/airport accessibility for business and easy transfers to the Green Line Metro that runs to St. Paul and the University of Minnesota. The studio has a bathroom and a kitchenette with a refrigerator, sink, microwave (no stove). The studio space has two queen beds in different nooks.
“Zach and Betsy's place lives up to the "most wish-listed Airbnb listing in Minneapolis" hype! The apartment was wonderful for a romantic getaway weekend - peaceful, private, and cozy. Cuddling by a the stove is highly recommended! A few pleasant surprises with the kitchen amenities: there is an electric hot-water kettle and pour-overs for coffee. I highly recommend this spot!”
