(North) The boats can be rented from the neighbors and the beautiful bridges can be found only a 6-minute walk away. This is where Giethoorn originated, and the oldest cottages line the path. No crowds of tourists. (They're in Giethoorn Zuid.) Here, you can still enjoy the wonderful tranquillity and beauty of the historic village of Giethoorn. Unfortunately not suitable for infants/children from 0 to 8.

Tucked away among the trees in Doldersum stands Boshuisje De Eekhoorn — cozy and just the right size. An enclosed forest garden of 700m², three bedrooms, a wood-burning stove in the garden, and squirrels regularly appearing outside the window.
