Built in our garden, this hideaway serves as accommodation for our large family to use when visiting. It has a large open plan kitchen/lounge diner with a sofa bed, one double bedroom, an office area, bathroom and a utility room housing the laundry facilities. It has underfloor heating and is double glazed. There is a dedicated parking space on our drive and a deck to sit on, in good weather.

Long Fall Bothy is a gorgeous stone building on the outskirts of Marsden village in West Yorkshire. Perfect for a walking holiday, the Kirklees Way passes the property and the Pennine Way, Oldham Way are close by. A great place for mountain biking with the Transpennine Trail a few miles away and lots of cycle paths/trails on your doorstep. Local real ale pubs and plenty of cafes in Marsden village a short walk (15 minutes) along the canal. Beautiful scenery, views from the cottage are amazing.

It is situated in Ryecroft, a hamlet of half a dozen or so houses, a little less than a mile above the centre of Holmfirth. There is plenty of off-road parking and a substantial garden for guests’ use. Guests’ accommodation is the top floor of the house. Access is through the main house, so we share a staircase and hallway, but the flat itself is fully independent with a lockable entrance.

Lovely cosy home. Loved the living room and open fire. Was even more spacious than looked on the pictures. The setting was beautiful with lovely views. Host was very friendly and responsive when I had any queries when finding the place and during my stay. Would love to come back :)

The property and the location was absolutely amazing , me and my friends have made some amazing memories there. The property felt luxurious and there were soo many personalised gifts for us upon arrival which were much appreciated. the host was very responsive whenever we had any questions I would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a country escape and I know I want to go back in the future.

We had a lovely warm welcome and was guided as to where to park etc. The studio was perfect for what we needed and we both decided we could probably live there! Maggie then offered to drop us off rather than us getting a taxi which was lovely of her. The breakfast of croissants, toast, crumpets and fruit was a very welcome surprise. For the money you will not find anything better. Such a lovely couple who shared part of their lovely home with us. We will definitely be back with a quieter itinerary so that we can explore the local countryside properly.

We absolutely loved this cosy little cottage. We were two friends travelling together so I knew that I would have to slerp in a bunk bed. I was prepared to find it uncomfortable but it was absolutely fine, plenty big enough for me and a super duvet. The kitchen was well equipped and scrupulously clean. I appreciated the information about the history of the house and the area that we found on the well stocked book case. Definitely a place to return to.
