Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, it's Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". We hope that a stay at the Temple will deliver this experience and stay true to this vision.

You can park in our drive!

This 3 bedroom garden/basement apartment is within an 1810 townhouse in the heart of the New Town and features its very own private walled garden - a fantastic feature within the city centre. It is just a 10 minute walk from Princes St (15 minute walk from Waverley Station). Please note that we do not use the front door. Access is instead via the back gate and through our garden on Jamaica Street South Lane. This is better than the front door as it avoids 2 flights of stairs!

The property is over two floors comprising of a fully fitted kitchen, sitting and dining area on the ground floor and has patio doors that leading to a small, enclosed courtyard to relax and enjoy the Scottish weather. The upper floor consists of a Snug, and a large master suite with ensuite shower facilities. This is a large bright room with a king size bed plus smaller bed settee, ample room for a travel cot if required. Fully licensed as per City of Edinburgh requirements

Portobello Beach is 15 minute walk away which is a must see especially with kids they will love it in all weathers. Buses (every 10 minutes) stop at end of the street to city centre which takes about 15/20 minutes. Co-op, post office, and various takeaways at end of street. Travel cot available if needed NO parties we will be contacted to deal with any noise at the property as we only live a few minutes away. Ring doorbell has been set up to monitor this.
