Hut holiday rentals in Cumbria

A fantastic place to stay, close to the town an easy walk to the pub but quiet and serene when you want to wind down. The hut was comfy and cosy well stocked with everything you could need. The double bed under the single makes for some entertainment when the person one the inside needs to get up in the night but 10/10 would definitely stay again!

Nice & quiet, shepherds hut was compact & cosy. 3 of us stayed for a night and we slept brilliantly, we didn't need heating but we imagine the log burner would of been lovely in winter. All told, a great place to get your head down with everything you need for a stay for a couple of nights or just a stopover.

Lovely hut, the kids had a fun night in the bunk bed. Great to have shower room.

Great to be back for a return visit. As always everything was clean and tidy. Andrew and Lisa are great hosts and always go above and beyond to ensure guests have a fantastic stay. There's plenty to do in the area, I spent the weekend cycling and it's really easy to jump onto the Waskerley Way, which is about a mile from the farm.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay with the dog! Andrew was a great host, and very understanding when we had to rearrange our booking earlier this year. The hut was exactly as described/pictured, very cosy and clean, with stunning local walks.

Super peaceful quiet retreat, just like the photos, well equipped, really charming, wish I'd been staying longer in slightly warmer weather!

We had the most lovely stay here. My little girl is already asking to go back! Super friendly, we loved the animals, my daughter even helped pick the eggs this morning and brought some home! Thank you so much it really was a fantastic find

We stayed here for a break away from our home renovations and I can’t explain how peaceful and lovely it was. Fiona met us on arrival and was so helpful with showing us around, brought us some milk and was really friendly. The accommodation itself was beautiful with some stunning finishing touches, the sun beds under the pergola were a dream with a morning coffee and we enjoyed watching some DVDs and seeing all the animals and wildlife. We spent the day in the Yorkshire Dales which is always beautiful and we can’t wait to return to Fiona’s place and experience it all again!

We honestly had the best stay here! The whole place was immaculate and so carefully thought out, perfectly clean and has everything you need. The hosts left us some lovely little treats on arrival which was so thoughtful and kind, the outside space is beautiful and perfect for a summer evening with the fire lit. The windows let in so much natural light and the furnishings were comfortable and clean. Genuinely such a perfect weekend, I cannot fault anything! Definitely worth the stay as long as you don’t mind driving to travel to other places. Thank you so much for making it such an enjoyable weekend :)

This Shepherd’s Hut is gem on the Pennine Way. The hut is very sweet and cosy and perfect for a night or two. View from the window is over the sheep fields and we spend the evening sitting outside, watching swifts, swallow allows and house martins circling above us. The host could not have been more friendly and helpful and we felt at home straight from the start. We couldn’t recommend this place any more especially if you are hiking the Pennine Way and want somewhere special to stay.

Wonderful stay in a well equipped, super clean shepherds hut. The hut is set just off from the farm and yet it’s very private with the only others guests being sheep, their lambs and daily visits from cows and their calves. Amazing views and a hot tub to unwind in and enjoy the big sky. Communication was excellent! Super speedy and helpful responses each time we had a query. The hut makes great use of the space it has and has been finished to a high standard. The only problem we had was having to leave this fab place behind. Lots of lovely memories made. Absolutely book it up!

Brilliant stay, host extremely helpfully and had set the hut up beautifully. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a few days in peace and quiet.

Had a wonderful two night stay in Oystercatcher. Such a cosy, relaxing space with everything you need. The hut was spotlessly clean and the bed was super comfortable. Communication from Richard was excellent throughout. The garden is lovely to sit in and to see/hear the birds. The solar lamps in the garden and fairy lights inside the hut made it extra cosy when it got dark. Oystercatcher is a stone's throw away from the rspb reserve which is well worth a visit.

What can I say the location of this shepherds hut was absolutely stunning … rolling hills surrounding the hut and only the sound of nature to keep the peace :) Had some great conversations with the sheep on arrival the hut and the place was beautiful and clean. Marcia was lovely when we was faced with a hurdle with our stay, Marcia happily listened to the problems and helped us with a solution :) Can’t wait to book our next trip there :)

Lovely place in great setting. Not mentioned on the listing but actually has full set of kitchen amenities (hob, air fryer, toaster) in one of the cupboards. Would definitely stay again

Beautiful spot which allows you to completely unwind and relax. Hosts were very responsive and place was clean and cozy. Lots of small personal touches like preparing the hot tub, the log burner and goodies from the farm. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

This was one of our favourite stays during our trip of the Lake District. The cabin has everything you need and we loved the private garden. It’s a short drive to popular towns and is only a short walk to the local pub. We’d highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our night away in our cosy little shepherds hut. The surroundings were stunning and our hut was absolutely spotless. It was in a great location. We enjoyed a lovely meal in a local pub only 10 minutes drive away. The hot tub was definitely worth the extra £50. It was lovely and hot as we kept adding the logs on the fire. It was a lovely relaxing experience and amanda was a great host. Very helpful and recommended places to eat nearby. We just wish we booked an extra night. We will be returning in the future. Amazing place. A little cozy if you are bringing a medium/ big four legged friend. But otherwise it had all the essentials for a pleasant stay, it was very clean and well maintained. The check in was super flexible, which is a plus, and we received very clear instructions of how to find the place. Amazing views too!

We had the most amazing weekend at the hut! It is in a gorg picturesque location with a really nice traditional pub in walking distance. It is also a short drive away from Hebden bridge which is such a lovely town to have a mooch around, we had a really nice Sunday dinner there at a pub called ‘the old gate’ which was recommended to us by Chris in our welcome pack! Chris is a fab host! We were welcomed by brownies & fresh flowers in the hut on arrival as well as marshmallows to toast on the fire which was such a lovely touch! Couldn’t recommend staying here enough! & my dog loved it here just as much as we did!! We would definitely return☺️

We had a fabulous time staying in the vardo. The surroundings are very peaceful and relaxing. Having a hot tub and pizza oven on hand gave amazing experiences. There were lots of fun & laughter. Maria was a fabulous host and was on hand to help with any queries. You have everything you need at the Vardo for a relaxing break to recharge and unwind. Would highly recommend

Fantastic place to stay, quiet, picturesque and a great place for dark skies- albeit slightly out of season I was still able to spot a few stars. The shepherds hut is spotless with everything you need including egg cups! Highly recommended bolt hole

We booked last minute as we needed a rest from driving. The pod was very nice and the views were lovely. We would of liked to stay longer but had to leave early for other commitments. Thank you
