The cottage was built right after The Depression but before WWII-a unique architectural "moment in time" It's been lovingly restored and still has many original features like the 1941 Montgomery Wards Catalog kitchen cabinets. Open year round, this spectacular 5300+ sq ft log cabin/lodge is a 1-hr drive from Grand Junction Airport. Nestled in an aspen grove overlooking Vega Lake, the cabin sleeps 17 people (kids included) and parks up to 8 vehicles. Wildlife abounds and the lake is full of trout (some up to 5 lbs). Outdoor equipment is offered free of charge (see list below) to enhance your stay. An expansive covered deck has a propane grill for BBQs and there is an outdoor fire pit for fireside evenings.

The Solargon is inspired by elements of Asian yurts, Navajo hogons and Native American hidatsa lodges.
