We supply all cooking/baking items/utensils so all you need are your food, drinks and ingredients. Full high-speed internet with smart TVs in both bedrooms and living room. Outdoor pool (seasonal), hot tub and massage chair. We love dogs too, so we provide a dog run (there is a pet fee).

Enjoy a little cozy apartment in Downtown Monona. Located in an upstairs apartment above a historical building. This is not handicapped accessible as there are stairs to get to the unit. Off-street parking is available. Fully equipped for short or long term stays with a pull out futon bed in living room. Main bedroom has a full size bed. Bathroom has a tub/shower. The town does have a train that blows its horn a few times a day that you will notice. There is shared laundry unit in hallway.

The Sparrows Nest was such a calming and cozy place with such unique and detail oriented decor which made it feel like a home. The apartment was right near such a friendly restaurant in downtown Monona. We explored nearby towns in Postville, McGregor and Prairie du Chien which made the trip an adventure too. Tanya was such a gracious and thoughtful host who left homemade delicious chocolate bars as a welcoming gift. The Sparrows Nest is the place to stay in Monona!

Nikki's cottage was perfect for our weekend! Conveniently located near downtown and accessible to everything. Nikki was very responsive with questions and even recommended a few events happening in town while we were there! Would 10/10 recommend and come back again!

A great view from the deck and peaceful. A nice location close to town but far enough away you feel secluded. We saw several deer on the property and tugboats go down the river from the deck. The home is older, clean and has everything you would need for a getaway. We had a great time visiting Effigy Mounds, Wyalusing State Park and Pikes Peak State Park all in close driving distance.

Rustic Home near Downtown

We had a great stay at Sierra and Nate’s place in Prairie du Chien! It was perfect for our family as it was spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The bedrooms had plenty of room, and the living room was a great space for everyone to hang out. Both the front and back patios were covered and had nice seating. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the basics and more, and they even had coffee and some toiletries available, which was super thoughtful. Appliances were modern and there were more than enough towels for all of us. The bed was very comfortable, and everything felt clean and well cared for. Check-in was easy, and Sierra and Nate were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The location made it really simple to get around town, and nothing ever felt too far away. Overall, it was a relaxing and easy stay, great value, great hosts, and perfect for a family trip. We’d definitely come back.

We were a group of ladies from Minnesota and Iowa, and meeting in McGregor was both convenient and so much fun! Our host, Sarah, was fantastic with communication, and the home was clean, spacious, and adorably decorated. We had a great time exploring Pikes Peak, the river casino, Prairie du Chien, and of course, downtown McGregor — just a couple of blocks away from fun bars, restaurants and a few cute shops. We’re already talking about coming back! Thank you, Sarah, for hosting us!
