The building is renovated traditional Japanese house so that you can enjoy cozy Japanese atmosphere and have a relaxing time on the Kotatsu, hammock and couch sofa in the common area. The room is Japanese-style dormitory room with bunk beds. Each bed has a reading light, outlets and a storage box for valuable items.

Our private room features 1 or 2 futon beds on traditional tatami floors. The shared areas include bathrooms, dining space and a work/lounge/library area. The hostel Saruya Hostel opened in 2015 in Fujiyoshida, a city at the bottom of Mt Fuji. We renovated an 80 years old wooden house to create a place that allows our guests to experience time and space through carefully selected art, design and objects, mixing traditional Japanese inspiration with modern aesthetics.

Very comfortable second floor guesthouse, with south-facing lounge, overlooking classic Nawate Street in the heart of Matsumoto. Across Metoba River from Nakamachi merchant street, a few blocks from Matsumoto Castle, surrounded by cafes and izakayas, and a short walk to museums and Matsumoto station.
