Holiday houses in Chatcull

This cottage was perfect for us - 2 couples with small children. Louise gave us loads of information before we arrived, and her husband greeted us shortly after we arrived. It was such an easy stay with small children, we had everything we needed, and the stair gate made life so easy! There were lots of lovely touches like providing snacks, coffee and jams. And Louise even provided some glasses for the solar eclipse!! The surroundings are really peaceful and the kids loved the 2 Shetland ponies in the field opposite. There are lots of options for walks from the cottage, or a short drive away. The Black Lion pub did a great roast dinner. I found there was so much thought put into the stay and Louise was very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

We booked this as a family trip for three for Easter. We arrived and found the property easily by following the instructions sent. There is one car parking space provided which was a decent size, we have previously had issues with tiny air bnb spaces. Easy access as there is a key pad on the door. The property itself matches the pictures, is clean and has a well equipped kitchen. Beds were comfy so was the sofa for sitting watching tv. The only criticism I could make is that some of the ceilings are low for me at 6ft 2 so watch your head haha. The hosts were great and communicated well and the location is absolutely spot on, walking distance to bars and restaurants and a short drive to the zoo and Cheshire Oaks. Would highly recommended!

We loved our few days in Pamela's cottage, the location is ideal for walking into Bakewell as well as driving to other places to visit, such as Chatsworth House which was wonderful. Pamela was an excellent trend lunch considerate and attentive host, answering any questions efficiently and checking in with us during our stay. I would absolutely recommend this cottage for a short stay in Bakewell.

A really great place to stay whilst doing activities around the Peaks! Parking more limited but we always managed a space with the permit being very handy. Lots of shared space which was great for socialising, D&D, and playing games and having tea together. Plenty of space in the bedrooms too and bathrooms all in a good condition. Ideal location right in the centre of Bakewell for easy access to restaurants, cafes and pubs. Host was always very good at communicating and friendly, offering early check in and late check out which was very kind! Would highly recommend if looking for a Peak District base with friends or family.

Alders cottage is a cosy cottage with beautiful interior and a cosy garden which we enjoyed our dinner and ice lollies on. The view is spectacular and the neighbours are really friendly. Although the description of the property says that it is not suitable for children, we took our four children and they loved it; there aren’t any stair gates and the stairs are creaky (for when you want to sneak out of the bedroom during bedtime), however, there were no concerns for the safety of our children. There is a supermarket a short drive away and a local corner shop a 2 minute walk away. Felicity’s responses have been swift and she is very friendly and accommodating. I’d lost my AirPods in the property and without hesitation, Felicity did what she could to get them back to me, as quick as possible. If you’re looking for a break from the city, or need a calm place before going to Alton Tower, I would very much recommend Alders cottage.

Fantastic little place with modular features that utilised the space really well. Especially enjoyed the rooftop terrace. All in all, a really comfortable stay. Soozey/Jen communicated excellently throughout which made the experience all the better. Would highly recommend.

A beautiful cottage, with a charming layout, making the most of the fantastic views. We could have sat watching the views for hours and were only sorry we didn't have more time to enjoy the terrace! It was well appointed and felt very homely. We loved how convenient it was for walking into Matlock Bath (only 5 minutes) with its fish and chip shops, ice cream parlours, amusements and lovely riverside walk and 2 play parks. What a great location for us as a family and it was very handy to be able to leave the car at the house and walk to the cable cars for the Heights of Abraham. We appreciated the milk and tin of chocolate biscuits. One tip for anyone who visits is to park at the top of the house, and not take the car around to the front of the house to save having to reverse up the steep hill as the road at the bottom has now been cordoned off. We had a great stay at Lavender cottage! It's in a lovely quiet location but only a short walk to shops and pubs. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed. We had a very comfortable stay! Thanks Ruth.

What a lovely little cottage, very clean and tidy and well stocked with everything you need in a home away from home. Little touches like the forget me not box and honesty box with holiday essentials should you forget anything (which we did!) was welcomed. Check in and out couldn’t have been easier and the shortbread biacuits and bottle of fizz was a nice touch Beautiful walks literally on the doorstep and easy access to the Tissington trail make this cottage a great place to stay in the Peaks.
