Cottage holiday rentals in Charente-Maritime

While travelling for a conference in Niort, we stayed 5 days in Fabien's Airbnb. A small haven of peace where we could enjoy the pool and the terrace in the evening. The accommodation is spacious and pleasant 20 minutes from Niort. Fabien is very welcoming and responsive to make the stay as pleasant as possible. I would highly recommend it

Great value for money, the location is great (near a supermarket 5 min drive, close to Royan and Saintes), this house will take you away from the city. Beware of having 1 bathroom for 10 people (but we know this from the time of booking) Otherwise, really in line with expectations, I recommend it!

Everything is relaxing. The old stone mill and its green environment for the eyes, the sound of the river and the birdsong for the ears, the smell of trees in bloom and cut grass. The mill is a 5-10 minute walk to all the amenities that the small medieval town of Pons offers. Louise and Michael welcomed us warmly, caring about our well-being in their home while preserving our privacy. We had a great weekend at Moulin Chaillou, we can only recommend it. Thanks Louise, thank you Michael.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of Meg and Mark’s gîtes with our 2 teenage daughters for 4 nights. I had no hesitation in booking the gite having seen how beautiful it looked on the website and reading the glowing reviews both on the website and on Airbnb. On arrival we received a warm welcome from Meg and Mark who showed us around the gîte and the grounds. The gîte itself is just beautiful. It is absolutely spotless and exceptionally well equipped. The beds were super comfortable made even better by the high quality bedding. The grounds and gardens are very well kept and the pool is stunning with great views of the surrounding countryside - it was a big hit as was the hot tub in our private garden! To top it off, Meg and Mark are the most fantastic warm, friendly and welcoming hosts but always respectful of our privacy. Thank you Meg and Mark for a truly memorable few days and for your fantastic hospitality. Chez Lussaud is an absolute gem and is a credit to you!

Charming house, very atypical! Corinne was welcoming and attentive. We were lucky to have good weather, and were able to enjoy the terrace (smaller indoor space for meals). The four bedrooms are very spacious.

It was a really nice week in the gîte rosiers. We enjoyed very much the nice surroundings and fun activities nearby. Super friendly hosts, they were always ready for us for help, fun tips and a chat here and there. It is definitely recommended!!

Elisabeth was very welcoming. The cottage is carefully furnished and equipped, everything is practical, accessible and charming. The bath towels are soft and the quilts are splendid. The garden is conducive to cooing, picking and hide and seek. The surroundings offer beautiful opportunities for bike rides, boat trips... in the heart of the Poitevin marsh. A very nice stay, in ideal conditions, from which you leave refreshed and invigorated!

Great stay at Sandrine. The house is very nice and well equipped. It is located on a quiet street with the beach a few minutes by bike. We'll be happy to go back!

A tastefully renovated fisherman's hut with a large terrace facing the river where you can eat to the sound of birdsong. Very well equipped where nothing is missing. A true haven of peace. Congratulations to David and Audrey for this beautiful restoration, it is successful, ideally located for beautiful walks and the unmissable boat ride with a guide who allowed us to learn a little more about the Poitevin marsh as well as the visits to the surroundings that are not lacking. Something to enjoy throughout your stay.

I would recommend Stéphanie's home, it's cozy and the cleanliness is impeccable. It has everything you need and the environment is quiet. Stéphanie and her daughter told me well and were very responsive and friendly. Ideal for a weekend away as a couple and in addition, pets are allowed 😊

Very comfortable and enjoyable stay

The accommodation was perfect: clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The location was ideal and quiet. A big thank you to Tri who has always been responsive and really friendly. I highly recommend it!

A nice quiet place to enjoy. Nice swimming pool, great seating in the shade and a huge garden for some small activities. There is not much to do in the village itself, but Virginia does give advice. We went to Angouleme. Furthermore, especially in the place, enjoy the swimming pool, the garden and the relaxed location. The accommodation is nice and spacious and equipped with every comfort, and the dogs on the property are sweet and quiet.

Very nice and spacious accommodation, with a swimming pool that we enjoyed throughout the stay. Very quiet environment, suitable for family stays and close to a few pleasant seaside resorts (about 20 minutes by car). The concierge has always been available and responsive to our messages. Only downside: a very weak mobile network (for 4G) and wifi too limited for the 8 people the house can accommodate (especially with teenagers😊). Apart from that, we recommend Jean-Christophe's house.

We had a lovely break, staying in a well equipped beautiful Gite in fantastic grounds. The heated pool,games room and garden kept our teenagers entertained. Recommended :)

Welcoming, comfortable and quiet place. Close to all the tourist areas of the surroundings, Royan, St Georges, Merschers, Marennes and this train des mouettes that leaves from Saujon and goes to La Tremblade. We recommend it in a second.

We had a pleasant stay. Great for those who love the countryside. There are even a few chickens, a few cats and a beautiful dog. The hosts are welcoming and on the premises of another building next door. You feel safe and the landscape is embellished with beautiful flowers. 😀
