Sixteenth Century House and garden

Experience the real France. Large sixteenth century house, small sunny and secluded garden, barn. The Castrum

The 3-star gîte (CDT 31) is housed in an old 13th century house that overlooks the vast village square and is part of the old medieval castrum (fortified square) whose thickness of certain walls and the embrasures recall the ancient origins of the place. The village is part of the Cocagne region within the "blue gold triangle" connecting Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne, a region steeped in history related to the culture and flourishing trade of pastel in the 14th century.

A delightful self-contained cottage. The gite is set in six acres of beautiful garden and private woodland and boasts a year-round diversity of flowering shrubs and trees rich in birdsong. British owners Peter and Tom welcome groups of up to six people. There is also potential to accommodate an additional two guests (plus child) in an adjoining room with private bathroom. We offer an entire apartment with views in a 17th century mansion located opposite the Collegiate Church of Saint-Michel de Castelnaudary. Accessible independently, it includes a closed garage for your bikes or a small car, a fully-equipped kitchen and 3 air-conditioned and spacious guest rooms. Each bedroom has a private shower room with toilet. The Canal du Midi with its basin, train station and shops are a 5-minute walk.

We have 3 gites at the property. All have a fully equipped kitchen with gas hob and combination/microwave oven, a bathroom and washing machine, TV and WiFi. Bedding and towels are provided. The garden and pool are shared between the gites. Gite No. 1 is a large, detached, single-storey gite with a spacious bedroom andliving room, private entrance, terrace and gas BBQ. Accommodates 2 people in 1 super king bed.
