Holiday rentals with breakfast in Cartago Province

My host, David was exceptionally nice, and thoughtful. I felt a kinship with him and he was very knowledgeable about the farm and plantlife. This was one of my favorite air Bnb stays!

Nice house with a lot to do!

I had an absolutely fantastic time staying at Raquel’s place. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The communication with Raquel was smooth and prompt, making the booking process hassle-free. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and given a thorough tour of the property. The space was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The amenities provided were top-notch, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, I enjoyed exploring the area and found plenty of great dining options nearby. Overall, my experience was nothing short of amazing. Very highly recommended!

Anita, Juan’s mother, was the best host ever. She was very friendly, greeted us with a kind smile, and it was great to talk to her. She prepared a delicious breakfast for us and we talked for hours at the dining table as if we were family members. We felt right at home. Also, we had a great view from the second floor balcony. It was so peaceful! If we are ever back in Cartago, we know where to stay.

If you are expecting a 5 star hotel do not go here. If you are expecting an experience, amazing food, no AC, cold showers, no iron or hair dryer and an amazing rural farm experience that you will never forget then this is the place to go. Extremely good, honest, hard working people. They feed you almost everything they grow or raise and give you the same food they eat or feed their kids. Mary Luz is an amazing person and a great cook. Plenty of other options available in the area to get a farm experience but if you also want a foodie experience then this place is it. As everyone has said rough roads but we had a good suv and got there in 20 minutes after we turned off highway 32. For some people it may take 45 minutes. Expect to get woken up with birds and roosters making a racket around 5:30 am.

I had such a wonderful few weeks at Bogana Haus! It’s the first time I’ve shared an Airbnb yet it’s the best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had. The home is absolutely beautiful and truly feels like an oasis in the city. So much thought and detail clearly went into creating the space. The neighborhood is fairly quiet (although I would recommend ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper) and I enjoyed going for morning walks. It’s also a pretty easy walk to the city center. I can’t leave a review with mentioning the amazing Paula. Not only does she keep the house immaculate, but she’s also so friendly, funny, and helpful. I was sick for a couple of days and she made me fresh lemon and ginger tea twice a day! I think my one regret is not taking advantage of her breakfasts more regularly during my stay. I highly recommend Bogana and look forward to staying again:)

This was a great place to stay, we would definitely do it again! The communication process before arrival was good. The caretakers were very friendly and very helpful. The house was huge, luxurious, and had amazing views. All and all our family had a great couple of days at the house. Having said all of that, there were a few cons: -The road to get to the place was horrible, it was muddy with a lot of potholes. -There are chickens in the back yard. Some people might like that, but the rooster would crow in the middle of the night and wake us up. -The house was "surface" cleaned, but it could definitely use a deep clean. The fridge was dirty, there was a lot of dust and dirt under furniture, etc.

The host was great, very nice and flexible, The place is very cute, big, and in a really nice area where so many bars and restaurants and the city center are all walkable!

I stayed with Gustavo for three months and I could not recommend this Airbnb more. As a solo female traveller I felt 100% safe sharing an apartment with Gustavo, who is an incredibly kind and helpful host, and lovely human being. The space itself was excellent as well. Everything is clean, the bed is comfortable, the apartment has lots of natural light and a beautiful view of San José, and it is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay. While it is always good to take precautions walking alone in San José, the neighborhood is quite safe, and everything you could possibly need is only a short walk away. The National Theatre, Central Market, and main strip are only a thirty minute walk away and there are bakeries and grocery stores right next door. Overall, this is the perfect Airbnb for those staying in San Jose for a longer period of time or just stopping by, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable stay.

The apartment is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. I leave very happy with Vanessa's care and hospitality, I would come back again without hesitation. The area is in the center of San José so it is quite accessible if in your plans is to know the center, museums, markets and parks. There is a washer and dryer which is quite functional. Excellent accommodation!

My experience in this home was amazing, I recommend staying here if you are looking for a cozy, comfortable, clean place with very attentive service. There are many amenities, the area is very safe and quiet, which allows you to have a relaxing stay to be able to renew energy since it is a mountain nearby. The rooms are very well equipped, however next to the rooms there is a delicious restaurant to be able to have breakfast. I highly recommend it and will definitely be staying again.

Federico was so helpful while arriving to San Jose. He made the check-in process effortless, guided me around the building and showed all of the nice amenities. I highly recommend staying here, especially if you’re using the coworking spacing Gracias. It’s very convenient and an excellent location. Beautiful coffee shops and great restaurants within walking distance. I’ll be staying here again in the near future for sure! Thanks Federico!

Easy to find. Very close to many things. Restaurants, shopping, parks, buses, church, etc. Easy walk to San José Centro Fairly quiet end of Calle 33 - except Saturdays until 11:30 or 12. Host very responsive. Simple but quite adequate! Mari, the housekeeper, very sweet and helpful!

Such a nice stay in a relaxing environment. Best view into the green mountains, we saw so many birds. Ruth & Andreas were lovely hosts. We can highly recommend.

A lovely place to stay! This property has a gorgeous view and your hosts, Larry and Alicia are very welcoming. The room is comfortable, there is hot water, good WiFi and a delicious breakfast is served in the morning. I highly recommend this location.

The host was very helpful and let me check in early. She spoke english well enough that communication was easy and she was very responsive to questions that I had. If you are going to the Basilica which is the main attraction in town the location could not be better. The Basilica is directly across the street and the breakfast area has a good view of it. I could not believe that they served breakfast as a part of this very low priced, very clean and comfortable room. I will book it when I come back! It is also only about a $60 dollar taxi ride to the airport on an uber so its ideal place to spend both the first night or two in country and when exiting.

We had a wonderful stay at Nano! He welcomed us directly and the room is very nice with its own balcony & bathroom upstairs. We were able to use the kitchen and living room. The view of the mountains and the valley is a highlight, it is also very quiet and we were able to unwind and relax well. In the evening, Nano prepared a delicious dinner with vegetables and herbs from his garden with a lot of love, also vegetarian on request:) We had great conversations and he gave us many tips for activities in the area. We will keep Nano as a good friend and our stay at Casa Paz as a very special memory of our trip through Costa Rica!

Ivannia is a very nice and helpful person, so is her son. Nice people, good vibe. The place is really cute and close to everything. I recommend this place to everyone so cute and full of good energy.
