Highfield cottage is a stone-built house on a hill at Hillhouse Farm Escapes in the Scottish Borders. This old shepherd's house is renovated to a modern & cosy standard. It has a superb kitchen with range cooker and large dining table, a huge lounge and two generous bedrooms (one is en-suite). Best of all is the stunning rural location with incredible views. It's an easy one-mile walk to a pub. Dog friendly. The house next door, a Little House on the Hill (Herniecleugh), is also available.

Glenburnie at Thirlestane Castle

This charming one-bedroom apartment is set in the heart of the South Wing. It takes its name from the moor behind the castle that is resplendent in purple heather during late summer and early Autumn.
