Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Cape Elizabeth

Our son, his girlfriend, my husband and I enjoyed staying at the cottage in late October 2024. The location was quite scenic as it overlooked Casco Bay, near Portland, ME. The host made suggestions that we followed (bringing firewood & blankets). The kitchen was equipped with utensils & coffeemakers. The neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed walking in the local preserve along the water and took advantage of visiting the Portland Museum of Art and eating at The Honey Paw, an Asian fusion restaurant.

Amazing place, host was super kind and accommodated my family’s last minute booking since we were cancelled on twice that week! We are super happy we found this adorable beautiful place that ended up being better than the other places would have been anyway!

Can’t say enough about how great our stay was! Andrew was incredibly responsive, let us check in early and check out late without even asking. It was a great location on the island, very walkable, even for my mother with a bad knee (she was exhausted after the first day though). Would absolutely stay again!! 10/10

Great location on the east end--residential with short walk to the Eastern Promenade and large waterfront park, as well as downtown and tourist amenities. Very efficient use of the small space. Because we wanted to take advantage of dining out, the lack of a kitchen was no problem for us. The bedroom was surprisingly large and bathroom a tad small, but overall a very homey and comfortable stay for a few days.

Diana’s house was lovely and very comfortable. My family and I had a wonderful time exploring the area and being on the beach! Diana responded quickly whenever I had a question. I definitely stay there again. I highly recommend her house.

This house was perfect for me and my guests! All 7 of us fit perfectly, It didn’t feel too overcrowded! We loved the beautiful view off the deck and the hot tub was an amazing touch! The house was very clean and had everything we could’ve needed. I loved how clear the instructions were for everything and how responsive the hosts are if you need anything!

Everything was as described! Very tranquil setting. Loved sitting on both the sunporch and deck watching the boats go by. The house was immaculate and very well equipped. NIce to relax without the distraction of tv for a change. Enjoyed their Bose radio.. Also the verizon phone /computer connection was excellent. It was a great home base for exploring the mid coast of Maine. Lots of good restaurants near by and the owner offered many heloful hints as to what to see, where to est and what to do. His communication was excellent. Would highly recommend this rental.

Such a great little spot in one of the nicest corners of Peaks Island! John was great, being flexible with me when my arrival time needed to be changed up. Would visit again and again!

The house was spotless and centrally located for what we wanted to do in southern Maine. It was well stocked with quality toilet paper, napkins and Kleenex. We had plenty of towels for the hot tub and pool. It is updated and well taken care of. The hosts were extremely helpful and we didn’t see them at all, so the place felt very private. This was an amazing house and our kids had so much fun in the pool and playing corn hole on the large deck. Would recommend this house for families and couples in a heartbeat!

We stayed at Susan’s home and loved it. It was perfect for our party of 6 for a family getaway. Surprisingly spacious and everything was well kept and spotless. Susan is very proactive and responsive as a host and was a pleasure to communicate with. Location is great and is a very short drive to the Old Port area. All around a fantastic find and highly recommend if you’re looking for a place in Portland!

Katherine’s place is in a quiet area with walkable roads for my dog and I. She has included lots of extras around the apartment: toiletries in the bathroom, snacks in the kitchen, a few drinks in the refrigerator. The atmosphere is welcoming and their dog, Sterling, is very sweet. Biddeford, Saco and Old Orchard Beach are fun places to explore. I would stay here again.

We loved our stay! A week was not long enough! Very open layout with lots of space. We loved having a washer and dryer! It was a pleasure to talk to Tom! Really a person you could talk to hours for! We left feeling like family, and couldn’t recommend the place more! If you’re looking to visit Maine or even the big city of Portland, I would recommend you look here. Being out in the country sheds a different light on all that Maine has to offer!

We absolutely loved our stay! The home is gorgeous, light and airy, and so comfortable for our group! You can't beat the location across from the beach and quiet street for walking. The pool and hot tub were also so nice. We would highly recommend and would love to stay there again!

I was meeting with family for a graduation. Four of us were staying here. The place was exactly what we needed in our lives and hoped for. It was country, quiet, peaceful and beautiful. It was so beautiful sitting on the back porch that we never once sat in the living room. We had lots of coffee and laughs sitting out there. We never even went into the hot tub or sauna. Would definitely recommend if this is what you need for your soul.

This Airbnb was so cozy and wonderful it was hard to want to leave. It had everything you could ask for with the most amazing view. It’s also a short walk away from the cutest market that serves that best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. Kerry was also super responsive and so friendly! Would rate more stars if I could and would absolutely come back here

Coolest air bnb I’ve stayed in. Beautiful, serene, private. Can sit out on the balcony and hear the loons at night. Beautiful wood interior. Spiral staircase. The kind of place you’d imagine an early 20th century writer would go for inspiration. Also only 30-45 minutes to downtown Portland. Wish I could have stayed the whole time I’ll be working in Portland. Highly recommend.

The Crow's Nest was a lovely apartment with a great view of the city from the rooftop. The photos and description of the apartment matched the actual experience. Kathy was super responsive any time we reached out to her. She also gave us a fabulous list of recommendations for the area including restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries, and local hikes.

We had a lovely stay. The space is a former recording studio, so very well-insulated. It was so warm and quiet! It's about 10-15 minutes away from downtown Portland, down a pretty quiet residential street, so you're generally getting in your car to go anywhere. Tammy was super responsive and welcoming. Overall a great experience.

This spot was just perfect. Seemed like a brand new lake house with modern decor. It was perfectly clean and cozy, with an open floor plan that made it feel big and bright. All the appliances were easy to use. Having the opportunity for outdoor and water activities was great. It made our packing much easier as we could take advantage of the kayaks, canoe, grill, and outdoor corn hole game provided on site. The fish were really biting, both from the dock and out on the boat - we caught 11! The fire pit made for a relaxing night, and the shower had excellent temperature control and pressure. The location was close to groceries, ice cream stands, and a very cool car museum. We didn’t want to leave!

I wanted a peaceful place by the water to unwind and Maggie’s home nailed it. Every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations. The deck views were amazing—islands, ospreys hunting, and a duck and her ducklings feeding along the shoreline. At low tide we poked around in the sand at the bottom of the rocks, and could have easily walked out to the center of the bay but it was juuuust a bit chilly for us. Easy to drive, park and walk along beach on the Atlantic side and explore. We didn’t have time to kayak but hope to be back to give it a go. So much beauty and nature, but with all the amenities that make it easy to relax. Maggie was responsive, and she and her family obviously care very much for the property. Check the propane BEFORE you plan to grill :), and bring flip flops to easily get from the house to the grotto (which was so comfy and cozy) and back again.
