The Lodge is a separate building from the main house and has a private patio for relaxing in the sunshine or stargazing at night. The double doors from the patio, lead you into the main, open plan kitchen / living room / dining area. It’s always great to stay at Fiona’s place. The best Airbnb where I’ve ever stayed. The area is peaceful, the neighboring pub has great food and waking up to the birds on the trees behind the barn is just simply amazing. I can only recommend to stay here and I can’t wait to get back soon.

We stayed at Bakery Barn for three nights and have earmarked it is a place to return to on future visits to family in Oxford. The annex was spotless and has everything one needs, including breakfast. Although the annex is close to the road, we didn’t hear any traffic at night. Caroline was welcoming and responsive, also allowing us to charge our car.

A really lovely short stay here with my children. We visited Whipsnade Zoo on two consecutive days and stayed the night at Nicole’s place. It’s a gorgeous little space and the children fell in love with it. They wanted to stay longer and made me promise to come back. Highly recommended. Try the fish and chip shop opposite as well. Great food and absolutely lovely people. Bakery good too.

Janet was so helpful and responsive, with arrival and departure made very easy. The location is peaceful, and certainly done to a high standard; my 11 year old commented on how much she liked it, especially the main room. I would have no hesitation in recommending Janet’s barn, which is exactly what we needed, including sitting outside in the morning listening to the birds and just relaxing into the day. Our thanks go to Janet, we had a great stay.

My partner and I stayed 2 nights for his birthday and had a lovely time. Sarah was extremely attentive—always reachable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. She sourced tools when we had car trouble, set up outdoor seating when we were on the pagoda, and accommodated extras like a birthday surprise and a stunning sharing board. Breakfast was also amazing. She kindly let us use the pool even though it was out of season. A few things to note: the upstairs tenant can be heard (as described), and the pool/sitting area feels slightly overlooked by the main house and upstairs entrance. The dogs can be noisy but were moved on quickly when needed. The jacuzzi may need a check—both of us had skin reactions after use. The main bed was also quite squeaky, waking us at times. Overall, though, a welcoming and thoughtful stay with personal touches that made it memorable.

Such a lovely experience! I booked the place to spend a few days with my husband, new baby and parents. Moyra was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The place was clean, relaxing and just what we hoped for with good quality bedding. We had delicious bread and banana cake freshly baked for us. Everyone was happy and comfortable. We couldn’t ask for more! We would definitely recommend this place and would stay again!
