Holiday rentals with a kayak in Ayrshire

Just home from a lovely family holiday. The place was great to fit us all in with plenty of space and lots to do in walking distance of the house, couldn’t be in a better locations. Made some lovely family memories to celebrate my parent 40th wedding anniversary. Colin and heather had the place decorated amazing before we got there - such a lovely touch! Thanks again! We had a fantastic stay in this cosy cottage - a few minutes walk to the beach and close to the bus into central Edinburgh. Discovering Portobello was an unexpected surprise and we enjoyed Eleanor’s food and drink recommendations (especially tanafiki coffee)!! The house had everything we needed and felt very homely. Couldn’t recommend more!

What a beautiful place to stay for a family visit to Edinburgh. This 5 bed house sits right next to a loch but is also only 10 minutes from 2 supermarkets and numerous take aways and restaurants. A 30 minute drive into Edinburgh was manageable and straightforward also. The owners, Theresa and David live next door and were friendly and helpful. I could not fault this stay at all, it was just what we wanted. Thank you so much, Theresa and David.

This place brings the WOW in every way. Such a beautiful home. Immaculate end to end and the host was so proactively helpful with info before even arrived (early - but that was no problem). Definitely would recommend. Absolute first class. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our experience at this property in Scotland was wonderful from start to finish. The booking process was straightforward, and our reservation was confirmed almost immediately, making everything effortless. Arriving at the property, however, turned into quite an adventure. We arrived in the evening amid heavy rain, with visibility low, and had to navigate a few remaining potholes along the way (though most had been filled in). Thankfully, we managed to find the key safe, unload our luggage, and settle in for the night. The next morning was a completely different scene. We woke up to clear skies and stunning views across the bay from both the bedroom and the lounge—it was breathtaking. Our first instinct was to get dressed and head straight to the beach for a morning walk, which was the perfect way to start the day. Inside, the house is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, with attention to detail everywhere. Premium shower gels were stocked in the bathrooms—a thoughtful touch

This place was incredible! The view from the house is stunning and ever changing looking out on to the loch and mountains. We saw Deer on the front, snow on the mountains, and swam in the loch most days (in February!❄️) then came back to the amazing hot shower! we used the kayaks which were fun too! The house is lovely and warm considering it’s so open plan. It was beautiful! Highly recommend!

Stunning home but the views are the main attraction! Brenda helped me have the most stunning small family wedding and the photos I have are gorgeous. My family loved each of their rooms they are really modern and the beds nice and firm. Thank you Brenda!

We really enjoyed our stay, the house was clean & spacious and perfect for our family of four. We especially enjoyed the view from the loft room and the balcony area.

Yasmin’s place is lovely. She and her family are wonderful hosts, making you feel totally at home, providing local knowledge, baking, tea and biscuits and showing a keen interest in you and ensuring you have a lovely holiday. We had a wonderful 9 night stay at Dereks home near Aberfoyle. The house is in a fantastic location if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, and explore Scotland. The scenery is stunning and there is plenty to see and do in the local area and beyond. The property itself was perfect for our needs, with plenty of amenities due to it being the hosts own home not just used as an Airbnb. Spacious rooms allow for a great experience and have to say one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in. The house was clean and tidy ready for our arrival after requesting a slightly earlier check in time, which was much appreciated. Derek and family were always at the end of the phone if we needed anything. Fantastic time was had by all, would highly recommend!

Such a beautiful part of Scotland, the cottage has everything you need. We loved swimming in the Lock and just getting a break from the real world! Will definitely visit again in the future.

A truly wonderful stay in one of the most beautiful properties Ive ever had the pleasure of staying at. The house is spotless and much bigger than what the photos show which is great as we were a large group. There was ample parking for 3 small cars which was a big relief over Easter as the town got very busy with walkers. Kitchen was full of everything we needed for the three days we stayed, albeit we were not brave enough to tackle the aga! The standout from the weekend though was Grahams hosting. A bit of a cult hero in our group now. Always responsive, informative and very resourceful, even going out of his way to source more parking options and check on life jacket sizes. Thanks Graham for making it a wonderful stay, we will be back!

We had a lovely weekend at stable cottage. It was in a very quiet area and in easy walking distance to shops,restaurants etc. The cottage is very nice and very clean and modern. We definitely stay again

Lovely lodge, beautiful surroundings. Our children (age 4 and 7) really enjoyed the hot tub. Going out on the boat was beautiful - request buoyancy vests in advance. House clean and comfortable. Well equipped for cooking.

Amazing location right by the lake. Lovely cabin and the hot tub was cracking. Having a little boat to row out onto the lake was a nice little touch. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back.

Great location - a short walk from the lake which was brilliant as we had a boat on the jetty. Good facilities with hot tub and decking area - main bedroom is lovely and spacious. Great layout for the caravan and decking area. Great parking facilities and in a lovely quite spot so that kids can ride their bikes around the area.

an incredible few nights away at The Tranquil Otter for my partners birthday. From booking to checking out, we were left fully satisfied. clean, accessible and in a lovely location with access to a private row boat to explore the lake. Absolutely loved our weekend here. The location is perfect for a relaxing stay surrounded in comfort and stunning natural beauty. The standout of the Ardlui Retreat has to be the care and attention from Garry (with 2 r’s) who could not do enough to help us during our stay. The local information and help he gave us going above and beyond any time of the day or night was unlike any I have every received anywhere I have stayed and for that reason and that alone I would be back! Thank you Garry with 2 rr’s!!
