Modern day "Thiopafto" derived from ancient "Ich-Thiopafto" which means "Peices or Dolphin Sanctuary". Located beside the quaint fishing port of Sabatiki , a 5-10 minute swim North, the both pebbly & sandy shore is a 2-3 minute walk(200m) by path. Thiopafto is visited every summer by the endangered sea turtle Caretta Caretta which lay its eggs on this tranquil shore.

It is surrounded by a garden of 4000 square meters with great vegetation, olive, lemon and orange trees as well as a variety of aromatic herbs.
