Holiday rentals with lake access in Atlantic Canada

Gorgeous home. A really comfortable, liveable, well laid out place. Clean and uncluttered. Ben was great to communicate with. We liked the peaceful, remote location. It’s near Panmure Beach which was nice. Didn’t try the kayaks the way our trip played out but the bay would be a gorgeous place to explore on a calm day. Great sunsets on the deck across the bay. Note that it’s pretty far from everything. Just under an hour to Greenwich Dunes or Charlottetown. But the remote location has its own charms. And Montague town nearby has basics like groceries, pharmacy (and walk-in clinic should you need it), liquor store etc. The house next door is close-ish but not too close. We like privacy and didn’t bother us. On the other side there is a house under construction but it looks like they have stopped building and we didn’t see any activity there when we were there. Could be something to ask about before booking though. All in all a fantastic stay. We would come back.

We were in awe of absolutely everything during our stay. Could not stop talking about how perfect everything was, the views, the place itself, and all it included. Host was very friendly and quick to respond as well. This is by far one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed on the island and I already can’t wait to come back. 10\10 recommend.

Our trip to Nova Scotia was a special celebration for our daughter. We chose the Den of Zen for a number of reasons, all of which exceeded our expectations: beautiful setting on a lake; clean and modern interior; an elixir of natural light from a wall of windows; use of great amenities such as a sauna, hot tub, and grill; close to Halifax/airport and easy access to routes for day trips; and comfortable beds. What was remarkable was the incredible hospitality of our hostess, Shelley, who made the trip THE best by offering attraction suggestions and keeping in touch to answer our questions. She was so attentive. We highly recommend a stay at the Den of Zen!

Excellent stay! Like every time I go. It was nice to see these beautiful places again in summer. Everything is always very good and clean. Then I thank them again for being flexible with the arrival time. Sometimes a little awkward, such as with the welcome of the owners before even entering the premises or meeting them regularly. But they're there if there's anything at least.

Amazing water views from every window. So calming and peaceful, even on a rainy day. We had a very comfortable stay here. It's very clean and had a well equipped kitchen. Was great to drive back to the quiet surroundings of Herring Neck at the end of a day out. Easy 15min drive to Twillingate. We saw many icebergs from land (nearby to Twillingate) and also on a boat tour. Such a beautiful part of the world. Can highly recommend Paul's place to stay if you are coming to the area.

Extraordinary property with expansive windows overlooking the lake and a stunning deck for enjoying the view. The interior was both comfortable and stylish, with tasteful designer touches throughout. Outside, the gas fire pit and string lights created a magical setting for evening s’mores. Beds were incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The hosts, Vicky and Steve, were responsive and thoughtful throughout our stay. Note: the steep, unpaved driveway requires AWD—it wasn’t an issue for us and actually added a sense of adventure. There is an alternative place to park vehicles midway for non-AWD vehicles. The only downside was unexpected construction on the lot next door starting Monday, which brought some loud noise. An excavator was moving boulders to clear out space to build a house. Vicky and Steve handled it quickly and graciously with alternative options. Aside from that, the stay was absolutely wonderful.

Fantastic and peaceful stay! The place was exactly what we needed—clean, quiet, and surrounded by nature. A perfect spot to relax and unwind. Highly recommended!

Water’s Edge was exactly what I was hoping for. It’s cozy, clean, and convenient. The location is ideal; a very short walk to the water and a beautiful view of the town. I’m so glad I found it, and I will definitely be staying there again when I return to Bonavista.

Quaint place with updated furnishings and right on the water with cute swings on the deck. Jonathan was very helpful, responsive to questions and provided recommendations on local eateries and things to do. Much appreciated!

It's a real little paradise! The place is very beautiful and very well maintained, I would even say impeccable! We had a warm welcome from the host Richard, smiling and available! I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a stay in nature and very quiet… the city is not very far away with everything you need!

The rooms were perfect for us. It was one of our best vacations yet. The wonderful people, cultural events, amazing vistas, wildlife, icebergs and Canadian history were fascinating. The cozy atmosphere and ease of staying in a basement suite made us feel right at home😍

This is a great place to stay, even better than it appears in the photos. It was not just clean, it was immaculate - and for an extremely observant nurse - that was awesome. The unit had easy access with a slight gradient path and only two steps - which was very helpful for us as seniors. The firm bed was very comfortable. Barbara was responsive and thought of everything, including having delicious specialty coffee for us - Thanks. She even had a cooler in the closet for us to use when we went to Acadia National Park. Like I said, she truly thought of everything. If we return to this area of Maine, we would love to stay again. We enjoyed our stay.

Just had a two night stay, and it was absolutely perfect. Beautiful views. Peaceful & quiet area, but still close to all amenities which was a major bonus. Inside was spotless and tidy. Check-in was no hassle. Definitely want to return for another weekend getaway!!

Cassie and Dave were amazing hosts and their place was even better than the pictures. We loved the kayaks and the hot tub and the peacefulness and solitude of the lake. The cottage was stocked very well with lots of extra touches and snacks. They responded immediately to any questions we had and were super friendly and welcoming. We would love to come back!

A great cozy getaway for a couple. You don’t always want a giant expensive place that sleeps 8. This perfect for 2 people, full of funky decor, well equipped and reasonably priced. I would definitely go back!

We loved staying at Deb’s cabin! It was so peaceful and scenic on the lake. It was a lovely base for exploring the acadia area. We’ve stayed at many airbnbs and this has been one of our faves :) Also loved meeting our hosts!

From the time we arrived we felt right at home. The place had everything you needed! Anne even left a nice treat in the fridge. The convenient location allowed us to get to Woody Point and Rocky Harbour easily. The view from the deck is amazing. I highly recommend the place and Anne is an excellent host.

Wife and I were down for y-con as vendors. The cottage is a lovely, quiet home we both enjoyed after a long day. Andrew was quick to respond when we had questions. I highly recommend the cottage for those looking for a nice quiet getaway. We look forward to being back next year for the event again.

We needed a last minute place to stay and Benjamins lovely lakehouse was available. Beautiful property on the lake with lots of activities for the family. Private and quiet, yet any amenities are close by. If we are in the area again we would definitely come back!
