Holiday rentals with a kayak in Asheville

The house was clean, full of amenities, and came well stocked. It was genuinely one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at not just because of the house itself but also because of our host. Our stay at this location overlapped with hurricane Helene, and our host, Travis, checked in on us over the course of multiple days. When the roads were blocked by mud and fallen trees, Travis traveled to the location to ensure we were safe. He even issued us a partial refund for the days our trip was cut short. That kind of hospitality is rare and is a testament to Travis not only as a host but as a human being. This same cannot be said for Airbnb itself. After stating that our trip did not fall under the “Major Disruptive Events” policy due to “no record of a hurricane in the area” (a claim they later retracted), we were forced to wait days until Travis himself could process the refund. What is the point of this policy if guests and host are still required to hash out a refund themselves?

Cozy home with everything we needed for a relaxing 2 week stay for medical treatments. Jade worked with us prepping the home beforehand removing fragrances. We brought a cooler of food and the kitchen was quipped with everything we needed! The photos were accurate - it was soo cozy and relaxing; hubby and I especially enjoyed listening to several vintage record albums-what a nice nostalgic treat! While there wasn’t a closet available, we used the over-the-door hangar to hang what we needed and put the rest in drawers which were plentiful. Having a washer/dryer available kept us going for the 2 weeks without having to pack a lot of clothes. The little office nook was perfect for remote work. The home was tucked away in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to main roads to go anywhere we needed, from our appointments to shopping to dining, although our favorite ice cream/lunch spot Baabal’s, was just a short drive away – quite a charming find! We definitely enjoyed our experience!!

The Lake house was perfect for us! 8 of us stayed at the house for celebrating a graduation and 10-12 of us gathered there for lunch and breakfast and it was great fit. It is literally steps away from a sweet little lake, that had baby ducks and geese when we were there in the spring and was a lovely 15 minute walk to downtown Black Mountain. The hosts were great - when I reached out for recommendations on a restaurant or caterer to help us with after the graduation lunch, they wrote back quickly and made great recommendation. thank you! Oh, and they recently added a game table and my husband loved it and we always knew were to find him, haha.

Had a great stay with the family. The house was very nice and had plenty of space. My kids had a lot of fun outside playing.

The Cottage at Lake Lure provided unmatched views and a relaxed and peaceful retreat. Outdoor spaces are beautiful but unfortunately the boat house that was present at the time of booking had been taken down by the time of our stay, reducing the ability to be on the lake. Access to paddleboards and kayaks a plus and the ability to rent a pontoon was a wonderful bonus. Wifi access was spotty and phone service challenging - this provided some challenges to individuals who planned to work a remote day from the booking. Overall a great stay with fire pit, grill, time on the water, and gorgeous scenery.

We had a quick stay for camp drop off. Very comfortable home and beds. Clear instructions for getting there and staying.

Bear Lake is beautiful and isolated. Top notch staff, beautiful spaces and good amenities. The house was in fantastic shape and was everything advertised. The back porch is a fantastic place to hang out and enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains on the other side of the lake. A few things to consider - the road to the house is curvy and very steep. Also, cell service is very poor, so make sure to set your GPS and copy a picture with the door code before leaving the service areas.

This was the perfect location for our celebration of my mountain biking husband’s 50’th birthday. While the guys were biking the rest of our crew hiked the private trails at Conastee Falls within the neighborhood and paddle boarded and kayaked on Ticoa Lake. The house is located right on the lake, and adjacent to the boat launch and dock with a ladder, which was very convenient. The home has its own dock with kayaks and paddle boards to use. We did not use the Pedal pontoon. (It is noted in the description but for water access you need to be able to walk a good may steps down to the water from the house or drive down to the Ticoa Lake access one space over if it is too steep fo you to descend and ascend the stairs. We brought our dog with us and Jenni’s home accommodated her so well, with a large crate and dog toys and feeding bowls. The lower deck has the ability to fence in a space for pets while you relax in the hot tub or sit on the deck. The home had everything we needed.

My family enjoyed a week at Ashley's place in Lake Junaluska. The kitchen is beautiful and well stocked, and everything in the house is very well-kept and clean! The pull through driveway is helpful on the narrow curvy road. The light on the front porch (which you are blocked from turning off) does glare into the second bedroom; keep that in mind if you have light sleepers.

I've spent many years using Airbnb. This was a very special experience! The cottage is perfection. The grounds and surrounding area are stunning! But the hosts, Melinda and Hal , made a lasting impression. You both made my birthday one of the best! I am forever grateful and can't wait to return.

Annie was an absolute pleasure to have as a host. She was responsive, super friendly and very helpful in every way. Highly recommend booking with her! The house and location is great also!

Mary Lisa's home was perfect for our group of two families with young kids. The house was spacious and we particularly liked the back porch and yard, and the kids had fun running across the little bridge out front. We also enjoyed walking to the shops and restaurants downtown, as well as the local park / playground. The kitchen included basic amenities and a handful of spices, but folks planning to cook extensively may want to bring any speciality items or ask in advance. We'd book again for our next trip!

Beautiful place to stay. Hosts were very kind and immediate to respond, when needed. Would certainly recommend to anyone looking for a nice relaxing getaway.

We really enjoyed staying. It was very relaxing and very well clean well stocked and had everything you needed plenty of towels and linens and cleaning supply’s and etc.

The Airbnb was in a beautiful location and it was very clean. The instructions for check in, amenity use, and check out were easy to understand and very simple. The house was beautiful and the host was friendly and easy to communicate it. He gave us some local places to visit and recommended restaurants that were delicious. One of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in. We had an excellent experience and would book this house again if we come back to the area.

I had an incredible weekend here. The house feels warm and thoughtfully designed, and the setting by the river is absolutely magical. It’s so peaceful and private—I felt completely recharged. The host was fantastic and made everything easy. I’d recommend this place in a heartbeat.

This was a BEAUTIFUL space for our gathering. The house was stunning, super accommodating, and cozy for our large group. There was a lovely trail beside the house that led to a relaxing mini-spring. We had a wonderful stay! The house was beautiful, well furnished, and stocked with everything we could possibly need. It felt like home! The views from the house are incredible...even better than the photos. The lake has a small beach that was a highlight and there are some nice trails around the property. The host was very responsive and the information we received in advance very helpful. We were especially appreciative of the host's flexibility with a special request. Nice and quiet cabin in the mountains. Super close to fun things!

Three families with a couple of children stayed for a week in this peaceful cabin. It had everything we needed, which is good since it is a significant trip to go up and down the mountain. There's a nearby trail between a waterfall and lake. My friends enjoyed the massage chair and the views from the deck alone were amazing.
