Extraordinary, Off-Grid Donegal Cottage

We spent a wonderful week in Roland's cottage. It was a perfect off-grid getaway at the end of the world, with the stunning Donegal coast right on the door step, and only the sheep as company. We managed to see just a fraction of the things this stunning part of the world has to offer, so we will be back. Even though we expected to spent the week by the firestove with books, the weather in mid October was great, always changing, with much more sunshine than we hoped for. Highly recommended!

The Pod was really great and packed a lot of things. I was there with my girlfriend Alex and we really enjoyed how close it was to Slieve League and great beaches nearby. The attention to detail was great and Barbara was very generous in providing milk and Oj and eggs and jam and biscuits and a very welcoming aura. Thanks for a great stay!

this place is a real gem and I hope to be back there soon again! the location is amazing with breathtaking views. very peaceful. the pod it self was spotlessly clean. super comfy bed. the hot tub was fab. the Wheelhouse Cafe was phenomenal, starting with very friendly and attentive staff, beautiful views with seating outside and ending with amazing food, by far it was the best breakfast ever!!! cannot recommend this enough. thank you John and the team!

This is one of the best Airbnb accommodations we've ever had. Carmel is a wonderful hostess and, in addition to the superbly furnished apartment, provides homemade cookies and soda bread as well as butter, milk, coffee, tea, jam and eggs. Location is great as a starting point for the cliffs and to explore County Donegal. We would definitely recommend the apartment again at any time.

The views from this house are simply breathtaking in almost every direction that you look, over the sea, islands and on to the mainland. We happened to have great weather when we were visiting but the great thing about this house is its design and use of natural light, and so even if the weather isn’t great the house feels bright and airy because of the dual aspect windows around the house. It had everything that we needed, was perfectly clean and it has a great location in order to discover the stunning beaches or even walk to the pub. Communication was excellent, an all round great stay. Thank you!
