With one of road free parking so no need to worry if visiting loved ones at the hospital or out for a day at the races. Directly opposite the Hospital you have the Cumberland public house which serves great food and has a large beer garden. As a well travelled couple we appreciated what home comforts guest like and hopefully accommodate for this.

The house itself was lovely. very clean and tidy. We had an issue with the freezer where we think the door may have not been shut properly so it was all frozen over and we were unable to close it. This means we wasted food that we were unable to freezer. I messaged the host twice about this and attached a picture and not one person bothered to respond. I would have marked down on the stars if it allowed me

Kim was friendly, helpful and supplies on arrival were generous (bread, milk etc). She was responsive regarding directions and made herself available when we arrived to help us into the accommodation. All aspects of the accommodation were very comfortable, clean and lovely. I would highly recommend this accomodation.

a lovely bnb with a lot of character, Den is friendly and helpful and his little pet dog is adorable! my room was clean and comfortable. the shared bathroom was next door so worth bringing earplugs so you're not woken up if someone uses it during the night.

18th century lock keepers cottage

What a great find Lock Keeper’s Cottage was for a lovely weekend away. If you’re looking for a quiet get-away in a traditional cottage right on the canal then this is for you. Your only neighbours are moored up barges/narrowboats - some permanent and others just passing through. Chat with the local owners or those navigating the canal lock on your doorstep and you’ll find how friendly they all are. At the back of the property there’s a large decking and the sizeable garden looks across open fields and is surrounded by a run off stream from the canal - you’ll have a to an eye of children if you’re taking them but this stream is only a few inches deep for the most part. Walking is easy - there’s woodland opposite (part of the Babworth Estate) with paths and, of course, the canal path itself. The cottage itself is really cosy with the 2 lounges and a well equipped kitchen. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and may be a challenge for the less agile though.

Lee is a great host. Always responds on time when we have queries. The home was quite nice. Glad to see there's off-street parking. We will definitely consider this place any time we visit Doncaster.
