Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway with a lot of artistry. This house was built by our aunt who was a teacher, feminist and art lover. She travelled, painted and collected art from artist friends. You can definitely expect surprises if you stay in this beautiful home and explore her collection. That is of course, if you are not exploring the Alpstein mountains, enjoying specialities from Appenzell or doing sightseeing. We value guests who appreciate our property and keep it tidy.

Residential building Münzmühle Appenzell

The Münzmühle / Geissersmühle was the mint of Innerrhoden from 1737-1745. Since then, the property has been called Münzmühle. On October 31, 1896, the property was passed on to the Geisser family. The Münzmühle was used for flour processing. Since 1967, the mill has not been active and is now awakened from its slumber. The Münzmühle is now intended to give future generations an insight into earlier times, which is why the home of the Müllers family is now offered as a holiday home.

Our cottage is surrounded by nature, quiet and on the Alpstein hiking trail In the garden, there is a cozy sitting lounge, a large fireplace and the garden shower for cooling off. The magnificent views and the Alpine feeling can be particularly well enjoyed from the bench on the forecourt. Inside it is beautifully and cozily furnished, with a tiled stove and wood-burning stove, a cozy living room and a spacious dining table. Everything is fully furnished and ready for guests :)
