Waterfront holiday rentals in Amarante

An outstanding Airbnb in a beautiful location. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, with the added bonus of several different places to sit in the garden and enjoy the spectacular views of the Douro valley. But it's the hosts that make this place so special. Casimiro and his son Manuel represent what Airbnb is all about; they personally welcomed us, offering lots of recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants, but were never intrusive. Casimiro's wife had prepared a tray of 'entradas' - a Portuguese starter of cured meats, cheeses, bread and olives - plus a bottle of local wine. A couple of days later Casimiro appeared with an huge bowl of cherries from their own orchard. This Airbnb wasn't just somewhere to stay for a few nights, but an experience to be treasured.

This is a lovely apartment with parking and elevator. The view from the balcony is stunning! Maria was very sweet and helpful. We had difficulty finding the location and Maria and I did not speak the same language so she had someone call me back that spoke English to help me find the location and answer any questions. Great location, great apartment. highly recommend :)

Fernando was a welcoming host, and even shared a 50 year old Porto with us. The house is a true gem, filled with antiques, and everything modern that subtly goes along with that. It was comfortable, the beds had the best linens, it was clean, and bright. The view and surroundings of the duoro Valley and the towns could not have been better. I wish to return if we ever come back to this beautiful area.

Der Aufenthalt war sehr schön. die Unterkunft ist mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail ausgestattet. Der Austausch mit den Gastgebern war immer sehr nett und hilfreich. Ich würde die Unterkunft wieder besuchen.

This place is great! About 35 min outside of downtown Porto. Easy to find and Liana was super communicative. They left a bottle of wine, & chocolate along with robes. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, this place has everything you need! Everyone was so helpful and the place was so charming. ❤️

We absolutely loved the apartment. The surrounding area was beautiful and calm, the sound of waterfall was very relaxing. The view from the window just amazing 🤩 The river beach 5 min walk down by the road. We stayed at two bedrooms apartment and place just was spotless. Full of Portuguese character with the modern twist. Bright and spacious. Everything that you need is there. You need a car definitely there. Check in and check out was straight forward. All instructions were provided. We didn’t have any problems. We would recommend the place 💯 present. And hope some else would enjoy as we did.

We loved our stay at Caroline’s place. The location could not have been more perfect for exploring the Douro Valley. We loved the terrace overlooking the river, incredible views. The apartment was beautifully renovated and spacious. I would highly recommend staying here if your travels bring you to the Douro Valley. Thank you for an amazing stay!

El lugar ideal. Nosotros fuimos con un niño de 4 años, le encantó también y disfrutó un montón de la piscina. Los anfitriones geniales, muy amables y cercanos. Es perfecto para pasar unos días en la naturaleza y además tiene cerca, a 10 minutos, un pueblo grande con buenos restaurantes si te apetece salir a comer o a cenar. Todo genial, la verdad.

Magrelos place was like a family home . It had everything you would need with your family . It was kid friendly and Pedro was super helpful. I would highly recommend this place.

We really enjoyed the spectacular views, the amazing terrace and the fun pool. BBQ area was a real plus and all the amenities were adequate for our party of six. Joao was a very friendly and responsive host. The main bedroom was large but the other bedrooms and communal areas were small with limited soundproofing. The location was beautifully private but the noises from the town and river could be loud.

From the moment we arrived , Alexandra welcomed our family and made us at home. The establishment is incredibly designed, unbelievable views and smells of fresh flowers. The staff was super nice and helpful, the food and wine was great ! Thank you for great family memories made ! Will be back ! Anthony

What a lovely stay! We immediately had to take our own photos to show the family. The property is very well presented, and we were provided with fresh fruit and eggs on arrival. We also had access to the private garden (more like a forest), which led down to the river. An unexpected surprise! We recommend to anyone looking at this listing!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in der Casa de Mirao. Wunderschön und ruhig gelegen, ist es perfekt für eine kleine Auszeit. Neben netten Aufmerksamkeiten gab es immer wieder Orangen oder Zitronen. Rafael und seine Familie sind tolle Gastgeber. Aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Perfekt. Die Wege im Douro Tal sind eng und steil aber wir haben uns schnell dran gewöhnt. Selbst mit dem VW Bus kein Problem. Auf jeden Fall eine große Empfehlung. Danke

It seems impossible to write something new about Maria and her wonderful place at the Douro River that has not been already commented and praised by previous guests. The 5-star review rating for Casa do Rio is very well earned: it is a piece of heaven, tucked away in the Douro Valley and Maria - and not to forget her husband, Jose (who does not get enough praise in other reviews) - are exceptional hosts. We stayed for 3 weeks, with a number of our friends coming to visit us for shorter stays. Maria accommodate all of our changing check-in and check-out needs without a glitch. We enjoyed taking advantage of the many activities and entertainment options - including massages by Hugo (a master of his craft) that the location provides. One thing to be aware of: There is no shopping option and limited restaurant choices available in walking distance, hence a car is almost a necessity for a longer stay.

The GPS couldn't work out the location so we had to rely on our phone to get to the house. We missed the Wine tasting by the look of it as a result but our host welcomed us with an introduction and free taste of their wine and explanation of their lovely property. The visit EXCEEDED our expectation. The Duoro valley is really lovely and well worth a visit. The host and his family were very kind and attentive and I will be heading back there with other family members asap. THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.

Nous avons passé un moment merveilleux chez Dulce : tout était parfait : le calme, la nature, les animaux, la maison typique, les équipements ( piscines, terrain de tennis, ping pong, pétanque, mini golf, équitation ) et surtout surtout l’extrême gentillesse de Dulce et son mari… ce sont des gens formidables avec qui nous avons pu échanger et nous ne remercierons jamais assez Dulce pour ses petites attentions : les œufs frais, les soupes, les gâteaux faits maison et les glaces offertes à nos enfants! Vous pouvez aller dans ce havre de paix les yeux fermés !!
