Holiday rentals with lake access in Amarante

Very cute little house on the edge of the Rio, converted into a mill, it is rustic but at the same time everything has been arranged and thought out to have a good time, with all the possible comforts (and even games available, a coffee machine etc). There is plenty of space to put yourself, although the house is very dark as it is in old walls, but the garden is simply beautiful. Between the sound of the stream that passes below the terrace, the flowers and the deckchairs to settle in, we were in paradise! Everything was clean and in place for our arrival. The house is right next to a bridge and we went for a walk around it was really nice. A very nice restaurant is 2 minutes' drive from there for a more chic atmosphere that is also enjoyable! This is a very special place with beauty everywhere you look including the architecture of the house utilising the natural materials of the region to blend into the landscape. Francisca cooked us a delicious three course meal including wine, delivered on a tray on our first night what a treat ! On Francisca’s recommendation we had a very authentic wine and food tour with Bambuti Tours we were overwhelmed with Portugal hospitality for the day and Viewed some amazing scenery, a great way to explore the valley. Casa Do Largo is situated in some of the most beautiful scenery in the valley and we enjoyed a whole day there , with a walk to the beautiful river first then a day enjoying the pool and the most comfortable home. This has been our favourite spot in Portugal and we would highly recommended you book it for at least 3 nights.

We really enjoyed the spectacular views, the amazing terrace and the fun pool. BBQ area was a real plus and all the amenities were adequate for our party of six. Joao was a very friendly and responsive host. The main bedroom was large but the other bedrooms and communal areas were small with limited soundproofing. The location was beautifully private but the noises from the town and river could be loud.

Rafael's place is absolutely gorgeous! On arrival, he gave us a warm tour and shared the property's history—fascinating. It's beautifully restored, surrounded by trees offering total privacy. His dad keeps bees nearby (we could’ve visited) and grows cherries, lemons, and oranges—he encouraged us to help ourselves, and they were delicious. The property was perfect for two, with a well-appointed bathroom, living area, and a private pool—compact but fits four comfortably. Rafael was super attentive and responsive, a brilliant host who clearly takes pride in the place. A few minor notes: the pool has no cover or hoover, so needs a quick skim due to nearby trees (his dad cleans it regularly); there are only 3 loungers and 2 extra chairs at the front; and indoor seating isn’t the comfiest for four, with 2 chairs being wicker which differs from the listing. These aren’t real negatives—just things to note. Amazing value and we’d love to return when we're back in the area!

Beautiful location, private and serene, Maria Lurdes is a fantastic host. She took time to show us around and explain the local culture and towns. The house is beautiful with so much space for games, gym, office space, living area is spacious for large groups. The river is right in front with easy access. Will definitely go back again to enjoy the house and Maria’s great hospitality. Would easily give the place 6 STARS out of 5!!!!

This has probably been the been AirBnB I have ever stayed in. The new house built on top of an ancient mill is really special and very welcoming with great attention to detail, the host was extremely welcoming and attentive to our requests and the location of the house allowed both for sightseeing in Guimaraes and Braga, as well as for excursions to the mountains and the sea side. We stayed for a week and the longer we stayed the more we appreciated our living environment in the middle of a flowing river stream.

It is a very nice house, located in a peaceful environment. Gloria's welcome was very cordial and owners Ana and Victor were available to let us know what to do when we arrived in the evening. We came there 5 years ago and will be back if possible.

The accommodation was beautiful as in the photos and clean too. People are very welcoming and respectful. Parking space in the basement of the building with access to the room by lift. Very pleasant breakfast served at the table by a very friendly person. The linen and towels smelled good. I would recommend this place 1000% Well done to the team on site.

We were seduced by this exotic, quiet and beautiful place! From the accommodation to the outdoor facilities, everything was great! our 11 and 6 year old children also enjoyed the place. Great hospitality from the host, we already know in advance that we will be back!!

Very pleasant stay at Nuno's, everything was available for the stay to go smoothly, quiet and relaxing place. Access to the nearby pool complex delighted the whole family! We would recommend this listing!

Delightful spacious place. A bit remote, but also nice and quiet. Everything present. Friendly owners. And delicious oranges from the tree for fresh juice! From here, you can quickly reach the Douro Valley.

Good place with access to Porto and other main attractions in the north.

We stayed 4 days in Ysabel's house, with the directions obtained it is it was intuitive to find the house that upon our arrival was as described. The space was more than good, the view of the river was a surplus, and we were able to comfortably make our visits to Porto and surroundings in the extra day there are all the amenities 10 minutes from the house. Ysabel and her partner were discreet as if they were not there but always ready for a smile and if we needed anything. Thank you for everything Tony Ileana and Vittorio

We had a lovely stay at this cottage located in the countryside in a relaxing place! José and Aurora were very attentive: tips, fruit and apple juice from the farm, thank you! Supermarket 5 minutes away, rivers for swimming a few minutes away, Amarante and Guimarães 45 minutes away, Porto 1h15.

The accommodation is simply magnificent. It is in the middle of nature, very quiet and very close to nature. You can hear the birds, the water. It is simply a magical place and perfect to arrive at or to enjoy the peace. I loved meditating by the water or doing yoga. I would come back anytime. Thanks so much for the nice days.

Perfect house, excellent location

A Hidden Gem in Nature! We had an unforgettable stay at this stunning farmhouse! The setting is absolutely serene—surrounded by lush greenery and fresh air. The highlight for us was definitely the natural water tank. It felt like our own private spring-fed pool—so refreshing and peaceful, especially in the mornings. The farmhouse itself is beautifully maintained, combining rustic charm with modern comforts. The interiors were cozy and spotless, and the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals. Waking up to the sound of birds and sipping coffee on the porch while looking out over the landscape was pure magic. Our host was warm, welcoming, and very responsive, offering great local tips and ensuring we had everything we needed. If you’re looking to disconnect from the hustle and reconnect with nature, this place is a dream. We can’t wait to return!

I would use the word "Exceptionnel" for this stay. The chalet was almost new, everything was well done, functional, well equipped and decorated with a lot of taste. As the place is a bit remote, the environment is also very calm and relaxing. Would return any time.
