Monthly Rentals in Alte

Beautiful, authentic Portuguese house, with magnificent view. The house has a nice, well-equipped kitchen, which is accessible from the terrace. When we were there, there was a litter of swallows in the corner of the terrace, which had to learn to fly, and that we were able to enjoy every day. From the house you are right on a beautiful hiking trail that is well marked. The route is about 17 km, but can easily be halved. You do have to drive at least 5 km for everything (groceries, restaurants, etc.), so you can't walk to a restaurant. There is no air conditioning, but the house can be kept cool by its thick walls. Unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes in the area so don't forget the DEET 😊 Tip: in Alte is a delicious praia fluvial, near the Fonte, to cool off at the end of the afternoon.

Just back from a lovely few days staying at Ana Maria and Jorge's cottage, who are such kind and friendly hosts. Well equipped, very comfortable and clean and just what we needed for a peaceful few days resting and exploring the Algarve. Going out and about in a hire car, we especially enjoyed visited historic Silves, swimming in the sea at Portimão and the Sunday church service at São Bartolomeu de Messines Church. Highly recommended!

John & Angie are very friendly hosts. We were pleased with the extensive welcome package with food and even tasty beers. The location is very beautiful; we had our own place with various lovely loungers and seats. There is also ample parking on private, enclosed grounds. The house was complete with a great sofa and a lovely bed and Netflix and YouTube for relaxation. We were also happy with the regular greeting by their dog Rio (since we have a dog ourselves). In short: we had a wonderful time!!

A hidden gem! Bungalow had great character, beautiful surroundings and everything you can think of - BBQ, coffee maker, chiminea, cosmetics, washing baskets, wine, desk with tonnes of information on the area! Lovely local artisan pieces everywhere. As a wheelchair user, I appreciated the level access, walk in shower, electric bed and ramp to the bottom terrace. Would definitely recommend!
