Beautiful, authentic Portuguese house, with magnificent view. The house has a nice, well-equipped kitchen, which is accessible from the terrace. When we were there, there was a litter of swallows in the corner of the terrace, which had to learn to fly, and that we were able to enjoy every day. From the house you are right on a beautiful hiking trail that is well marked. The route is about 17 km, but can easily be halved. You do have to drive at least 5 km for everything (groceries, restaurants, etc.), so you can't walk to a restaurant. There is no air conditioning, but the house can be kept cool by its thick walls. Unfortunately a lot of mosquitoes in the area so don't forget the DEET 😊 Tip: in Alte is a delicious praia fluvial, near the Fonte, to cool off at the end of the afternoon.

We had a relaxing time at Casa Anjo. John and Angie are very enjoyable hosts. They welcomed us very warmly and we were given an enthusiastic explanation. The refrigerator was stocked with some basic necessities. 👍 The apartment is clean and tidy, is outside the tourist hustle and bustle (45 min from Faro✈️) and is a nice base for nice walks in the area and visits to the coast (30 min). Delicious breakfast on the covered veranda, where two lovely sun loungers are also available. The garden looks well cared for. Also very nice that Rio 🐕 sometimes came to sit with us for a while.

A hidden gem! Bungalow had great character, beautiful surroundings and everything you can think of - BBQ, coffee maker, chiminea, cosmetics, washing baskets, wine, desk with tonnes of information on the area! Lovely local artisan pieces everywhere. As a wheelchair user, I appreciated the level access, walk in shower, electric bed and ramp to the bottom terrace. Would definitely recommend!
