Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Alexandria

We stayed here for a couple nights with our two kids and dog and it worked well. Plenty of space for us. They do mention that the ceiling is very low and there are quite a few steps which are both very true but it is manageable. There is free parking right on their street which was a huge draw but construction limited the spaces when we were there, but Brian & Jess were helpful and we found free parking on the next street with no issue. We used public transportation to get around and it was very convenient and easy, two different bus stops super close by and easy to get to the metro. Lastly, it was so hot and very humid when we were there, the apartment is in the basement and it was musty and damp in the morning. Brian & Jess were helpful when we brought up, and were told the mini split unit has a dehumidifier setting and it seemed to help some. Brian & Jess were responsive and nice, and we’d recommend staying here when visiting DC!

This place was perfect! The term cozy is an understatement. From the yard and throughout the home this place was so welcoming. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking needs. The bathroom was spotless and the heated floors were glorious. Best 3 nights sleep we have had on this road trip. my husband was ready to steal the mattress and linens. Our pups loved the large fenced in yard.

This was just the right location for our trip! Close but yet away. Was just what we were looking for!

Candice was very welcoming and responsive. She made sure we had what we needed. Cute, clean space with an amazing shower. The location is great. 0.3 miles from the nearest metro. Parks and dog parks around the neighborhood. She gave us our space to come and go freely! She has two dogs upstairs that sometimes bark, but we are dog people (and have a barky one ourselves) so it wasn’t an issue for us. She quickly tries to quiet them down, and she’s understanding if your pet barks too. Good place for dog owners!

Location to Metro worked well for our adventures in WDC. Grocery available close and several easy to locate restaurants

Great place for a family! With small kids a hotel is a no go for us so this was the perfect spot to make sure our kids were able to get a good nights sleep before a long drive!

Absolutely perfect for our family trip to DC. The location was a 3 min walk to the metro, which was a 10-15 min ride into the DC area. The home accommodated our family of 5 (kids 17, 14 & 11) perfectly and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare simple meals (Wegmans delivers groceries if you don’t have a car). The home was very clean and comfortable, and the neighborhood felt very safe. Always lots of friendly neighbors out walking and biking. Maggie has thought of everything and was very communicative. Thanks for a great place to land after our sightseeing adventures, Maggie!

Excellent first Airbnb experience! Space was exactly as described and impeccably clean. Located in a beautiful, secure, quiet neighborhood directly across from a park... so pleasant hearing kids playing while heading out to our car instead of typical hotel noise. Daisy and Steven were fantastic hosts, responsive, friendly, and thoughtfully checked on our comfort without being intrusive. Great amenities including off-street parking, EV charger, coffee bar, snacks, and welcome wine. Clear instructions made everything seamless. Would definitely book again - highly recommend!

We spent 4 days site-seeing in DC and Lily's location was perfect, being just off the Richmond Hwy it was easy to get to by car. We paid an additional fee for parking under the building which was well worth it given the convenience. The Crystal City Metro station, with both the Yellow and Blue lines, was a very short walk away and could even be accessed via an underground walkway system just outside the building. Also just a block or two outside the building was a movie theatre and several bars/restaurants. Having breakfast on the 14th floor balcony was a great start each morning before heading to Metro to start the day's adventures. We would definitely stay here again.

Nathan has a lovely home—it feels like stepping back in time into one of old Washington’s charming houses. Everything was spotless and well-maintained, and communication with Nathan was excellent. The location is convenient, about a 25-minute walk to Capitol Hill. While the surrounding area could be better—the streets were a bit dirty—it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t affect our overall experience. We had a wonderful time in Washington, and staying at this house was definitely part of it. Thank you, Nathan!

Cute & spacious boho apartment. My family of 5 was very comfortable inside. Metro & restaurants were close by (5 min or less walk). Free parking pass was great. Currently there is a lot of construction happening in the parking garage and on the street but it wasn’t too loud and once you got used to the few streets that were closed it was easy to drive and walk around the neighborhood.

A+. super responsive and helpful from check in to check out. Everything was spotless and clean. looking forward to staying there again.

Martha's place is a lovely retreat. There is enough privacy between the main house and the guest house. The guest house is spacious and comfortable with a great screened in porch and access to the pool. It's in a quiet and peaceful area. I look forward to coming back again.

I had a wonderful time staying at this property! The home was exactly as described, clean, cozy, and thoughtfully stocked with everything I needed. The attention to detail made the space feel welcoming and comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and safe, with easy access to restaurants and supermarkets. Great location! Lots of stairs, so mindful of that if you have any seniors in your group. The beds were comfortable and clean. Walkable to a lot of shops and restaurants!

Gina's place is both comfortable and very convenient. Short walk to Metro and access to many restaurants and services on King St. The neighborhood is dotted with many older attached homes making it a pleasure to walk around the historic district. The bedroom is well-sized and the bed is very comfortable. Despite the bathroom's small size, the shower feels spacious and Gina provides good quality towels and products. Just note that there is no kitchen but we knew that before booking. There are also many places in the area for coffee and breakfast, lunch and dinner. The space is also very quiet - affording good sleep quality. Thank you Gina for a very pleasant stay!

We enjoyed our stay here so much! The house was exactly as listed but even better. Super clean, spacious and everything we could need was supplied! The house is the perfect distance from the action of Old Town…a perfect walk to enjoy the scenery but just far enough away to enjoy the quiet neighborhood- and the water is just over the hill. Everything about it was perfect- we DEFINITELY recommend and plan to stay again when we visit.

We really enjoyed our stay! It's just steps away from King St and a short walk to the Metro station. Very clean and cozy in a safe, walkable neighborhood that's just a short train ride from all DC has to offer. We will be recommending it to anyone traveling to the area.

About 10 min walk from King Street with tons of restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The place was clean. They use nice eco-friendly soaps, cleaners, air filter, which was a nice touch. It has shared walls, but I only heard people walking very occasionally and a dog barking once. So very quiet for shared walls. The bed is firm, FYI. Clean. Convenient. Definitely would stay again.

A fantastic location, just a 10/12 minute walk to the local metro, which has you within 20 minutes of most attractions. Sabrina's place is great, and thanks again for having us.

Kerry’s flat apartment was very conveniently located in old town Alexandria. In a five block radius you can find extraordinary restaurants and shops. If you like running you can find a magnificent trail to run, bike or walk just three blocks away from the apartment. Coffee shops are so close , even the gelato place downstairs. The circulator (bus) is almost down the stairs from the flat , you can ask for an Uber and in minutes it gets there, since the apartment is so centrally located. The flat is spacious and there are plenty of books to read and chill after your day. Cute boutique shops are very close by the apartment. Betsy Asnis
