Wow! Frank's place is absolutely beautiful. I could not have asked for a better place to spend our 35th wedding anniversary. The house was immaculate. The kitchen was THOROUGHLY stocked. Very good cookware and the knives were sharp! I usually do not sleep well in a different bed but my back did not hurt at all. I must say the chair in the corner in the living room is without a doubt the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. Spent the rainy day hanging out in that chair. Frank and Amy were very responsive and offered great suggestions on things to do. Amy greeted us upon arrival. She lives in the house next door. Beautiful gardens. Very quiet, peaceful and remote setting. Bangor was about a 30-minute drive. Acadia an hour drive. This house is definitely one of the top Airbnb's we have ever stayed at. I would not hesitate to stay at this beautiful peace of paradise again. Wish we lived closer.

Dave and Flora’s little cottage in Orland is ideal for anyone looking to get to Acadia, the nearby hikes in Orland, Castine, Bucksport, and/or Brooksville, and even hiking that’s further north. We stayed the weekend of 10/18 and the foliage was still gorgeous! Though we lived in ME previously, Dave and Flora still sent us copious recommendations for hiking/restaurants around the area, several of which we checked out during our stay. (: The cottage was pristine and the decor truly was “rustic elegance,” as Flora describes. It is just the right size for a short stay, but has everything one needs to be comfortable. There’s even an oven/microwave for those who wish to do their own cooking. The ‘greenhouse’ sitting area was so peaceful for having coffee in the morning or to start a small tabletop fire in the evening (per Dave’s recommendation). Don’t even get me started on how delicious Flora’s fresh, warm blueberry muffins were on our first morning! Thank you Dave and Flora!

We had a wonderful stay in the cottage and luckily we also had great weather for April. It was really easy to get to and from Acadia and Bar Harbor. When we had a minor problem Jean-Yves dealt with it in a friendly and efficient manner. We would definitely return if we found ourselves back in the area.

This was the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in! It was cute, cozy, and peaceful, the surroundings were beautiful with all the foliage. Would love to book again if I’m ever back in this area :)
