Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Akureyri

We are family of 4. The house is very clean with amazing views. We have everything we need here. Bathroom is clean and warm. We cooked quite often and the kitchen utensils are of high quality. This is one of the top3 Air B&B we have ever stayed for the last 10years we travel around. Thank you Agusta for sharing this house .

Nos trois jours sont passés très vite.... Nous avions un pêcheur avec nous et jenny a été très sympa....pour lui montrer le spot...et lui a amené du matériel de peche.... Tout était super.....nous serions bien restés plus longtemps

Beautiful location. Near a ski resort and close to the heart of downtown. Home was very cozy for our family of five and everyone had their own beds. Very peaceful area. A short 5 minute drive to downtown and grocery. Host was very responsive and friendly. Would stay here again.

Beautiful location - plus we were lucky enough to see northern lights right there! Place was as described, very comfortable, easy drive to downtown Akureyri. We had a wonderful time - thank you!

This House was a really Great Choice. It is a Little Bit further away from the ringroute but that made it really quiet and scenic too. It still is easy to reach and you have everything you need close by. I highly recommend to take a detour to this City it is really worth it. Herdís was a really helpful and friendly Host. If im ever going to visit Iceland again I make sure to take a stop there again.

Arnor's place was absolutely beautiful! His instructions were clear making the home easy to find! The home is exactly as pictured, absolutely beautiful. Very clean and felt so homey. He was very kind and so helpful, my daughter was sick during our stay and there was a language barrier between the pharmacist and my husband and he called the pharmacy and typed everything out in Icelandic for my husband to show the pharmacist when he went back a second time, we were able to get her medicine and he checked in on us to see how she was doing. It was so very kind of him and I'm so appreciative to have such a kind host. If I'm ever back on this side of Iceland I would absolutely rebook with him or recommend him/his home to anyone!! Thank you Arnor for a wonderful stay and for your kindness.

I wish we could have stayed here for a week. Or a month. Such a beautiful home in a beautiful location. Great design and architecture. Happy little signs of family life but also spacious and accommodating. Both secluded and close to Akureyri. Only regret is that I didn’t try out one of the many hammocks on the property. Loved taking a small watercolor, painted by the host’s mother, home as a reminder of our stay.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft, welche gut erreichbar ist. Die Unterkunft war sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Lediglich das WLAN hat bei uns nicht zuverlässig funktioniert, wodurch Streaming, Videoanrufe nicht funktioniert haben. Dies hat uns aber nicht gestört.

Petite maison accueillante avec une vue à couper le souffle 🤩 Les Chats et le chien sont adorables 😻 🐕 Nos hôtes ont été très gentils et agréables. Le Hot tub est évidemment un plus!

Saubere und gemütliche Unterkunft. Schneesturm im Juni.. damit haben wir nicht gerechnet nachdem der Süden sonnig war. Saevar hat uns mit Tips für schneewetter versorgt, vielen Dank!

We slept so well at Kristjana’s place! It had all the comforts of home. Highly recommend.

Eine wunderschöne Wohnung mit viel Liebe und Charm eingerichtet. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet und wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt. Für uns mit unserem 7 Monate alten Tochter war es ein perfektes Zuhause.

We had an unforgettable 2-day stay at Tora’s beautiful studio house. The place was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The surrounding scenery was absolutely stunning, with sweeping views that made every moment feel like a postcard. One of the highlights was having horses nearby — such a peaceful and unique experience! And the swing was a fun for my daughter and unexpected touch that added to the charm of the property. Tora was a wonderful host — warm, responsive, and thoughtful. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy Iceland’s natural beauty in a peaceful, scenic setting. We’d definitely love to return!

We had a great stay at this apartment! The location is central and parking was very convenient just a block away.

This Airbnb in Akureyri was a great choice, as it was close to the centre and the interior was really nice (furnished with wooden mid-century furniture, which was a big plus for me). Helga, our host was very friendly and helpful, she recommended great restaurants, we tried one of them, and had a top notch experience.

Couldn’t recommend a stay at Pétur’s place more! Apartment was spacious and very clean. Outdoor space was lovely as well.

Big spacious apartment with a beautiful backdrop of mountains out of the windows. The apartment is equipped with all necessary amenities and Tomas is an amazing host. I would surely recommend it this place for exploring northern Iceland.

A cosy little apartment, clean and modern. The house is a bit worn down, but the apartment itself is nice.

This was by far the best place we stayed during our visit to Iceland. The unit was nicely equipped from the kitchen to the linens. Location was walkable to dinner and local shopping. We were even able to walk to the docks for our whale watching excursion. Our only driving was to the Forest Lagoon hot springs (highly recommend them, we went twice)

Nicely decorated apartment, spacious kitchen, free street parking right by the door, responsive host, good linen. Note that the washing machine and dryer are in a shared room with the apartment downstairs.

We felt very much at home in Ragnheiður's cosy apartment. It's very quiet with view over pastures, horses and mountains. You'll find a fully equiped kitchen with everything you need and the whole flat ist VERY clean! Even on foggy days there is a lot of daylight in the living room. We were allowed to use the washing machine, which was a lifesaver. Ragnheiður was very kind and helpful and always very quick to respond to questions!

My wife and I had a long stay here while visiting family in the area. The moment we walked in, we felt at ease. This place is super clean, so cozy, and very welcoming. It was the perfect home away from home and we'd love to come back.
