Holiday rentals with lake access in Yarra River

We had a fantastic stay at Wattle Bird for a friend's getaway. The house was spacious and comfortable—perfect for our group of 8 adults and 2 dogs. Rob and Di were exceptional hosts, warm and welcoming, and made us feel right at home. The property had everything we needed to enjoy our time in Barwon Heads, with standout amenities like the BBQ, hot tubs, and a cozy fireplace. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Wattle Bird and would love to return!

Sue’s place was just lovely and was beyond our expectations. Perfect view and location, will definitely be back 😊

This house is simply amazing. The most comfortable house with great mattresses and couches. The mountain surrounding is so beautiful that you can simply sit at the deck or on the couch all day just to admire the view. One of the best we’ve stayed so far! We felt like we’ve walked into a brand new house as you can still smell the new paint/furniture. Love the big dining table and comfy chairs, and the couch of course! Another surprise is the pony at the back of the neighbour’s yard, who came so close to welcome us and quietly be with us. It’s great to say hello and goodbye each day with our new friend. Bruce welcomed us with a bottle of Prosecco and biscuits, which is very nice way to start the stay! Highly recommended to anyone who wants to bring their family a getaway at Warburton!

It was a wonderful stay. Everything was precisely perfect as expected, even though we spent less time at home and mostly used it for sleeping only due to heaps of activities. It was a great, hassle-free place with modern equipment. I definitely recommend it. Hope we visit again.

Julia And Marcus were wonderful hosts; the house was exactly as pictured and there was plenty to do for our three kids. There is a nearby playground within a few minutes walk which was really handy and the house was comfortable for our family of five. The property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and the check in and instructions were clear. Would highly recommend!

Have used AIRBNB a few times now so much better than Hotels but can be a bit hit and miss. Not this time tho, the house was better than listed. To have a big house with a lake on one side and the beach on the other was something really special . To be honest tho not you fault but typical freezing Melbourne spring hurt a bit coming from Queensland but the fireplace was A1. Anyway thank you again. We will be using the home again in summer if we can- It is perfect- clean modern and convenient to everything .

We stayed at this amazing place during the Labour Day long weekend. Everything about the place is Wow!!! The location, the views are fantastic. Having private access to the lake was great. We could launch our JetSki from the property made it very easy. The house has everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the air con was a really helpful. Bbq area was clean and had great views. Every room has views of the lake. It was absolutely peaceful. The kids had fun with the telescope and were super excited to see the moon up close. Just a note that phone network is very patchy but the wifi did the job pretty well. Rina’s communication was top notch and very responsive. We accidentally reset their locks and they were very nice about it (So sorry) On the whole, this place is highly recommended and very well appointed. We would definitely like to come back and stay here.

We had a lovely stay at Merediths place - just what we needed to recharge the batteries! The unit was spotlessly clean, well equipped, and also a few little extra touches such as chocolates, sourdough bread and necessary pantry staples. Whilst we knew that Meredith was close by it was certainly a private and comfortable accomodation. We would stay again! Thanks so much for having us.....

This was our first family trip to St Kilda, and we were very pleased with Marcus and Zahra’s apartment. The location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area, with tram stops conveniently right out front and plenty to do within walking distance. The space was nicely equipped, just as described, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We didn’t encounter any issues, but Marcus was proactive in reaching out to ensure everything was going smoothly, which we appreciated. We’re already looking forward to returning to St Kilda and would gladly stay here again!

Such a beautiful spot, really close to Albert Park which has good facilities as well as South Melbourne market. It’s also right next to the tram station to get into the city. Lots of nice cafes and restaurants nearby. James was super responsive and flexible. The neighbours were lovely and really helpful, giving us suggestions of places to go and directions. The apartment was a good size and well equipped. We had a great stay and wish we had longer!

Sarah’s place was awesome. The views were amazing. Location was perfect. We were able to walk or drive less than 15min to get to all the places we wanted to explore. I highly recommend.

Angela’s property was beautifully maintained and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Most importantly, it was absolutely spotless! Angela was incredibly responsive—both during the booking process and throughout our stay. Any time I had a question or needed assistance, she replied almost immediately and was very helpful. It was a fantastic experience overall, and I’ll definitely stay here again the next time I visit Melbourne.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming little house, which is actually a beautifully remodeled workshop/barn. It has been tastefully renovated with a modern touch while still keeping the cozy, rustic feel intact. The large pergola gave the place so much character, and being surrounded by animals made it feel like a peaceful countryside escape. Cathie and Michael are incredibly welcoming hosts. They made us feel right at home and shared some great local tips that really helped us make the most of our time. There are several beautiful nature walks within 30 minutes of the property—one of them turned out to be the hardest (and most rewarding!) hike of our trip. Alexandra itself isn't overly touristy, which we absolutely loved. It felt like discovering a little bit of a hidden gem, the nature in the area is beautiful. Highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for something a little special.

We had a wonderful stay at this cosy home in Neerim South. The house was spotless, comfortable, and well-equipped, making for a truly relaxing getaway. The views from the property were absolutely lovely, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. One of the standout features was the fantastic outdoor cat enclosure – such a thoughtful touch for pet lovers! Communication with the host was smooth and friendly, making check-in and our stay hassle-free. Handy hint is to try shove some branches in the driveway gate to keep it open. The photos don't do the place justice! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet retreat in the area!

My partner and I stayed here for the weekend for some wine tasting and a hot air balloon ride. The cabin was really nice and felt so authentic. The atmosphere and environment was beautiful - the surrounding farm lands really added to the authenticity of the cabin experience as well as the well-kept antique furniture. The whole cabin reminded me of my late great aunt’s home back in South Carolina — pure nostalgia for me. The kitchen was super functional, the hot tub was great, the heated floors in the bathroom was an excellent touch, the single air-con was incredibly efficient in keeping the entire cabin cool in the summer heat but I would recommend bringing a personal fan just in case. Overall a fantastic experience, looking forward to staying again

Wayne is a great host. The property is within the Barrabool Maze Estate. We had access to the entire estate whilst there and our son had a fantastic time doing the maze a few times. There's also a variety of birds and a playground and lots of other things to see. A great cafe with great service and yummy food. The house itself is filled with beautiful art, knick knacks and very spacious. Clean rooms, has everything you need for a weekend stay and felt very private. Not too far from Geelong or surrounding towns. Recommend if you're ever wanting to stay somewhere not too far from a city but wanting quiet & relaxing surroundings.

I'd highly recommend Stephanie's country cottages to anyone looking for a peaceful bush getaway. A friendly and gracious host, we felt right at home straight away and the cottage was lovely and comfortable. The garden is a fantastic place to do some star gazing, then have a copy fire to warm back up. Just loved it. Thank you for having us Stephanie!

Thanks Jude and Bill, I had a great stay in Ocean Grove for a couple of nights. The place was clean and comfortable, with everything you need for a short stay. Did not expect the provided food and bits for the beach, a lovely touch.

Our family of four had such a lovely stay here. The cottage was even nicer than the pics, with lots of thoughtful touches. The pool and gardens are gorgeous, too, and host Caesar (the lab) took us on a walk through the grounds, past the cows and horses, olive trees and more. Kate and Evan were very welcoming and gave us clear instructions about everything. Location-wise, it was nice and central, with Port Arlington, Barwon Heads etc an easy drive away and we found lots of activities to keep the kids entertained. Thanks for having us!
