Holiday rentals with a kayak in Wilderness

Knysna is such a lovely place, with Thesen’s Island being my favourite area. Location is great, and is extremely safe as it is a gated community. The house is beautifully kept, spacious, and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The furniture, décor and general quality of the house is great (especially the lovely main bed!). Faith is such a lovely lady - full of energy and charm. She is incredibly helpful, responsive, and is such a delight. She makes you feel right at home from the moment you arrive, and gives an amazing tour of the house (and some great recommendations of places to go on the island, as well as in the surrounding areas). It was such an amazing stay, would 100% recommend, and would definitely book again!

Great stay. Clean, well equipped property that matched its description. Hosts responsive and helpful. Easy walk to the Waterfront. Thank you also for making a kayak available to us. Good fun.

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect and we would definitely recommend. We had some cockroaches and Tracy helped us instantly with traps and spray. Really great host!

Amazing place with incredible views & good facilities. We loved using the pizza oven and brai, also the kayaks, and Phiri kindly let us use the washing machine too. The kitchen has so much storage space and two big fridges (although missing a few simple useful things like a colander). Great place, with lots of space for 6 people. Loved it.

The venue is beautiful designed so much space with different areas yet not huge. Host was always helpful and responded quickly. We loved the house it was a home

Our family stayed for 5 nights and we really loved it. The solar power never went under 80 percent even in overcast condition and it's so private and quiet. If you like camping and be to yourself we can truly recommend the place. Liz was very responsive and sorted out small problems immediately.

A real back to nature experience. Lovely hosts and easy to arrange the boat pick up. We did an early morning kayak trip to the local waterfall which was blissful. Swimming in the river was safe and warm and we loved seeing the water change colour depending if the tide was going out (tannin tinted forest water) or coming in turquoise water from the ocean. You could spend the day on the balcony watching the world and the water go by. You can hear and see the road, but we quickly zoned it out. Spiders do come and visit, but they are harmless and a cup and paper is all that’s needed to relocate if you are concerned. Overall I recommend this unique place to stay 100% and suggest you stay 2 nights minimum.

Jean's house is the absolute perfect place for a family holiday. Lots of space, adjacent to a lovely, clean lagoon for fishing, swimming and canoeing; a lovely lawn for the kids to play on, a massive stoep (verandah) to spend the days and early evenings enjoying a braai and admiring the spectacular view of the hill on the other side of the lagoon, in the coolness of shade. The granny cottage in the backyard is the perfect go-to place for grandparents or parents to escape to. The location is perfect, on a cul-de-sac, near enough to restaurants and shops alike. To top it all, Jean is the perfect host and communicated accurately, honestly and immediately. Our large family of nine returned home, relaxed, happy and well rested. We absolutely dream of repeating our fabulous holiday in the exact same house, soon.

The cottage has beautiful farm views and the area has stillness that will relax any business or holiday traveler. My family & I had fresh rich milk from grass fed cows every morning. A real treat.

This place is truly paradise. Rustic, peaceful, with the most breathtaking surroundings. Check In was seamless, very clear instructions received from Gustav. The caretaker, Francis, is an absolute legend and we even were lucky enough to get a glimpse of the resident genet. Daily swims at the river mouth are a must. We will definitely be back :-)

Outstanding stay! Well equipped quaint space with all necessities .Super easy self check in and friendly staff - Great service from staff at this establishment. The cabin was beautifully decorated from the room to the hot tub. The space was very neat and clean and while being surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking views of the Knysna lagoon. The hot tub was heated prior to our arrival and while we were out.. our host was very friendly and made sure to check in . An amazing stay with an authentic experience.

The road in is a bit rough but we made it in easily and it is worth it. It was better than what we expected. Absolutely stunning and peacefull. We were there for three days and enjoyed every moment. We will definitely go there again, hopefully soon. It is the most amazing place to become part of nature.

All I can say after staying here is wow! Everything has been so thought out. The place was immaculate and any additional extras were there on site if needed. We enjoyed a paddle while watching the rhino graze nearby. Will be recommending it in the future for friends to stay at for sure!
